  • Marcus Thomas to visit tommorow

    From Rotoworld:

The Giants will meet with free agent DT Marcus Thomas on Thursday.

Thomas has generated little league-wide interest since turning down a one-year offer to re-up with the Broncos in May. The Giants are dealing with multiple injuries at defensive tackle, one to Marvin Austin and a season-ender to Shaun Rogers. Thomas is a 26-year-old run stuffer. He could help in a rotation.

That would be a nice pickup. He's had some problems off the field but we really need some help at DT. He's still pretty young and might have some upside left.

Hey you never know. Reese is awesome at the stealth, under the radar type signings. Thomas is actually pretty decent if motivated.

Thomas has excellent power, size and athleticism. He is a ball-hawk defender who excels at stuffing the run but also has the ability to explode and make plays into the backfield. He has had off-field problems in the past (in College) and has a big challenge in proving he can stay focused on football. The motivation is not always there and he can be inconsistent at times. He is an adequate starting Defensive Lineman.

that was a scouting report on him. not sure i like that too much, but hey im not jerry reese

Problems off the field in college seem to be drug related issues but seems to have kept his nose clean in the NFL since 2007...or I am not seeing anything.

Why not? It's not like Reese is giving him the mother load.

Next man up! That's my motto!
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

              # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
              2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
              3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
              4-New York Giants!!!
              5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

I just hope he has trained properly this summer and kept his conditioning up!
Would be a descent pickup if he is motivated.
