  • Sean Locklear: Left or right? Giants' tackle doesn't know for sure

    Excerpt: "
Earlier on Tuesday I wrote about how the back issue being experienced by Will Beatty could cause shuffling on the New York Giants offensive line. Turns out that one of the players most affected by the Beatty situation, isjust as confused as the rest of us about what might, or might not, happen.

"I wish I knew. I don’t know. I come in every day and I don’t know how Will’s feeling but I’ll take advantage of the opportunity to learn and play," Locklear told reporters on Tuesday. " I wish I could know what they were thinking, but I don’t. I just come in and I know what I signed up for. I come in and compete, play both left and right and now I’m at the left and just take advantage of it."

Locklear knows that if Beatty can't get on the field for the opener he could stay on the left side. He knows he could switch sides with David Diehl, since Diehl has more experience on the left and he has more experience on the right. He knows, or at least has to know, he could wind up on the bench and second-year man James Brewer could wind up starting one one side or the other in Beatty's stead." Read more...
