Sucks for them because they might miss out on another ring boy.

Jacobs is probably still hurt, which is why he isn't playing.

      Not sure why Manningham isn't.

Manningham is dealing with a family issue and isn't at the game and Jacobs has a knee inury that might keep him out until maybe week 2 or 3

Depending on how many rb's the 49ers plan on having this season I think Jacobs might be the odd man out. Frank Gore is the starter, than you have 2nd round draft pick LaMichael James, second year player Kendall Hunter. Now getting hurt last week doesn't help his chances.

According to Harbaugh he's safe. This was from Rotoworld:

"Coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) has done enough to earn a roster spot.A deep backfield and Jacobs' recent knee injury couldn't push him off the roster. It's bad news for Frank Gore's fantasy value, as Jacobs figures to take over as the primary goal-line back once his knee returns to 100 percent, likely by Week 2 or 3. Kendall Hunter remains the primary backup to Gore. Aug 23 - 3:20 PM

Hmm..what do you guys think the likelihood they honestly release Manningham would be? I would logically think next to none, but I'm not really following this offseason as closely as I'd like. That'd be weird, I'd think, if they sign him and release him so quickly but being as the subject was broached I figured I'd dig a bit deeper.

Manningham being on the same page with Eli was tough enough. Alex Smith...............I don't think so.
I wish the two of them well. I've got nothing but good memories about both of them.
No one remembers who came in second.

                        they are 49ers now , so i don't care.
just like shockey or aaron ross....they are gone...c-ya later bye-bye.
wilson and randle are way better anyhow.
