I'm not sure why everyone is so high on Douglas. It's our deepest position and the guy wasn't even drafted. I'm more concerned about our OL. OT is weak and so is backup OG.

O line concerns are in another thread, this one is about Douglas.

Douglas showed some serious potential. He showed a lot more than Jernigan has thus far, that's for sure.

a good punt returner is gold
he can flip 2-3 games your way in a tough schedule like ours

ask SFO how it felt to lose a season because a guy muffed a punt

I didn't see the practices, but I heard Jernigan was doing well there too.

But gametime, when it counts the most, he didn't look so hot. That much I did see.

I surely thought Douglas had a potential role as a returner specialist and ST, whereas for JJ I don't even want him on the field, and probably won't since he's the last guy on WR depth chart and Hixon or Hosley is preferred returns guy. Hopefully Douglas can make the PS but if not I hope he doesn't go to an NFC East team.

ur exactly right and Douglas didn't do much in games. He had 1 catch for 23 yards

Douglas also had a couple impressive catches that were called back because of penalties. And let's not forget the great punt return he had.

Not to mention, he didn't get NEARLY as many opportunities as Jernigan did, and Jernigan came up flat on almost all of them. Including his kickoff/punt returns.
