Giants' Marvin Austin hoping to finally make NFL debut on Sunday

    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...l#incart_river

Excerpt: "Marvin Austin practiced today and if he has his way he'll finally make his NFL debut Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"That's exactly my train of thought," the second-year defensive tackle said. "I feel good out there and I just got to go to the training room and try my best to do everything I possibly can in my power to control what I can control and do what I can do to get back out there. " Read more...

Justin Tuck "disgusted" with Giants' season opening loss to Dallas

    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2..._with_gia.html

Excerpt: "The Giants got back to work today after a three-day weekend off. The time away didn't do much to lessen their dissatisfaction over theirseason-opening 24-17 loss to the Cowboys last Wednesday.
“I think every guy in this locker room is disgusted with how we played,” Justin Tuck said today.

The defensive captain said fatigue was not a factor and the energy was good. But he said the execution was poor. He was disappointed to see that in a Week 1 game against a familiar NFC East rival." Read more...

Prince Amukamara back to practice field

    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...ra_back_o.html

Excerpt: "The Giants and their injury-hit secondary may have some positive news today: Cornerback Prince Amukamara was back on the practice field for the first time after suffering a high ankle sprain in the third preseason game.
Amukamara did special teams and individual drills during the portion of practice open to the media. He was running and back-pedaling on the ankle today, which last week he said he had not done yet.

DT Marvin Austin (back) was also participating in drills, another good sign for the Giants." Read more...

Prince is "very optimistic" about playing this week

    http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/gia...ying-this-week

Excerpt: "Prince Amukamara has spent three weeks saying he hoped to come back in time for the Giants’ Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Monday, he took the first step in that mission. The Giants’ second-year corner practiced for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain in late August. Afterwards, he said he was “very optimistic” about his chances of playing on Sunday, even if he isn’t quite at full strength.“I feel like I’m still not running like I used to,” Amukamara said, “but I still feel good.” Read more...

Prince ready to run to the rescue?

    http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/gia...-to-the-rescue

Excerpt: "Prince Amukamara has been targeting a Week 2 return from his high ankle sprain, and for the moment he appears to be on target.
The Giants' injured starting cornerback was out on the practice field and running through individual drills on Monday morning as the Giants -- mired in last place in the NFC East with an 0-1 record -- returned to work to prepare for their Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Amukmara appeared to be running without any limitations during the few minutes of practice that were open to the media.
We'll find out later from Tom Coughlin whether he was able to make it through a full practice or not. Either way, this was Amukamara's first practice since he injured his ankle in Week 3 of the preseason against the Chicago Bears. The Giants also had DT Marvin Austin (back) and T James Brewer (back) back on the field for individual drills." Giants' Prince 'optimistic' about playing, Beatty says he’s ready to start
    http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/giants...YD5jdTmDJnh1WJ

Excerpt: "Prince Amukamara searched for the right word to use to describe how he feels about playing on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

“I’m very, what’s the word you guys use … optimistic,’’ Amukamara said on Monday.
After missing the season-opening loss to the Cowboys with a high ankle sprain, Amukamara tested himself this past Sunday, running for the first time. He liked what he felt and, more importantly, so did the Giants training staff.
“The trainers saw how confident I was and they allowed me to go today,’’ Amukamara said.

As the Giants practiced on Monday, Amukamara participated in at least part of every drill.

“I did everything besides special teams,’’ he said. “It felt good, I just went out there to see what I could do and see if I had any limitations. I didn’t aggravate it today and it felt good. I feel like I’m still not running how I used to but I still feel good out there.’’ Read more...

Prince look healthy in return to GIANTS" practice

    http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/giants...YD5jdTmDJnh1WJ

Excerpt: "Perhaps time does indeed heal. The appearance of Prince Amukamara on the field Monday morning as the Giants reconvened for practice could be seen as proof of that.

Amukamara missed the season opener with a high ankle sprain and back on Thursday said he had not yet been cleared to run. Well, apparently he received the go-ahead because he was out there with his teammates, not only stretching and warming up but also looking quite able as he ran straight ahead and then back-pedaled. For a team in dire need of capable and healthy cornerbacks, it was a most positive sign for the Giants." Read more...

Giants' Victor Cruz "getting back to the little things" after forgettable first week

    http://www.giants101.com/2012/09/11/...able-week-one/

    Excerpt: "
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz was a pleasant discovery after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 from the University of Massachusetts. Last season he emerged as a top weapon for Eli Manning, setting a franchise record with 1,536 receiving yards. However, in the first week of the 2012 season, Cruz had his worst game of his career after dropping three passes and being called for two penalties.
After such a successful season in 2011, it was only natural that Cruz would receive a great deal of attention in the offseason. He became the guest on several talk shows, handed out an award at the ESPY's, was on the cover of GQ Magazine, appeared in several commercials and released his own book. Victor was seen doing his signature 'salsa dance' everywhere and some blame his sudden celebrity status for his poor performance in the season opener." Read more...

Prince Amukamara, Marvin Austin, James Brewer return to practice for GIANTS

    http://www.giants101.com/2012/09/10/...w-york-giants/

Excerpt: "Late last week, New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara (ankle) said he was still aiming for a week two return against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Initially met with some skepticism by head coach Tom Coughlin, who said Prince had not yet begun running, all systems were a go on Monday as the second-year cornerback returned to practice for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain against the Chicago Bears in week three of the preseason." GIANTS' Keith Rivers looking good, Martellus Bennett happy, and more form Monday morning hangover

    http://www.giants101.com/2012/09/10/...ning-hangover/

Excerpt: "It's the first Monday of the regular season and the New York Giants are alone at 0-1 and in the basement of the NFC East. All is lost! The season is over! Pack it in! No … not really. It's only one game, folks.

In three of the four years New York has won the Super Bowl, they have started 0-1. In two of those years, the opening week loss came at the hands of a divisional opponent. All in all, the Giants are in familiar territory and are no worse off than they were a year ago at this time. As the saying goes, one game does not a season make." Read more...

Poor Eli Manning: NFL regular season week 1

    http://www.giants101.com/2012/09/10/...season-week-1/

    Excerpt: "
"Poor Eli Manning” is a compilation of quotes by both the media and fans aboutNew York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XLII & XLVI MVP Eli Manning.
Despite his success, negativity and doubt have followed Peyton’s younger brother since the moment he was traded from the San Diego Chargers to theNew York Giants on draft day of 2004. Regardless of what he does or how well he performs – even in a league that lives and dies by the motto, “What have you done for me lately?” – he is questioned and criticized.

You didn't think this was gone, did you? You couldn't possibly have believed a second Lombardi Trophy and second Super Bowl MVP would keep the critics at bay. Of course they are out in full force!" Read more...

NY Giants roster moves: Practice squad changes official

    http://www.bigblueview.com/2012/9/10...k-scott-wedgie

    Excerpt: "
Life on an NFL practice squad includes no guarantees.Brandon Collins and Matt McCants have already found that out the hard way.

The Giants made a pair of practice squad transactions during their long weekend, cutting both Collins (a wide receiver) and McCants (an offensive tackle they drafted in the sixth round). The Giants signed cornerback Terrence Frederick and center Scott Wedige and terminated the practice squad contracts of McCants and Collins." Read more...

    Amukamara making progress

    http://insidefootball.com/blog/archives/5147

Excerpt: "Last week, head coach Tom Coughlin said he wasn’t sure about whether second-year cornerback Prince Amukamara’s goal of returning this week was realistic.

This week, the coach was given some good news, as Amukamara was cleared to take part in practice, though it wasn’t immediately known how much he was permitted to do.

With the Giants’ defensive secondary hurting at the cornerback spot – Michael Coe was sidelined as he continues to recover from what he described on Thursday as a “mild” hamstring strain – the Giants are hoping Amukamara has made enough progress to get back into the starting lineup this week.

In other good news, defensive tackle Marvin Austin was back at work after being sidelined several weeks with a back problem." Read more...

GIANTS NOT WORRIED ABOUT WILSON'S EGO

    http://www.profootballweekly.com/201...ut-wilsons-ego

Excerpt: "But we heard the Giants are not anywhere close to being worried about the rookie’s state of mind. They know he has to learn how to carry the football better — his technique was sloppy when Cowboys LB Sean Lee poked it out. They believe this is much more of a physical concern — getting him to change his grip — than a mental one." Read more...

I really hate a one game season.
Over the years I "lurked" here at GMB, it is a constant refrain of "we are finished ect" everytime this team loses.

When will be the first TC must go post?

                Thank for the news!
