  • Imagine if Eli had Jason Witten... we still need a premier TE

Look at just how many weapons Tony Romo has at his disposal, none bigger than Witten.

Who is Dallas' OC? I would pay his salary to get him here...

If Eli had Witten he would have at least 5 more TD's minimum & another 300+ yards easy, not to mention less INT's.

This is a joke, right? If not, you either do not watch the Giants games, or you are a little off. Ballard has been a huge surprise this year, and in fact, reminds me a lot of Witten. Jason Garrett calls the plays for Dallas, and if you don't know who that is, he's the head coach.

Ballard is no Witten, but I can think of 10 more threads about what we need before I'd ever mention TE....

You must not watch football if you think Ballard is anywhere comparable to Jason Witten or any of the primer TE's in the NFL, smartass.

Garrett still call their plays? Interesting... I'd still take him over Gilbride.

As can I it's just whenever I watch Romo or Matt Ryan or Rivers play I can't help but think how lucky they are that they have such a GREAT TE.

Imagine if they didn't have a great TE.... it's such a luxury to have such great safety nets.

I think Ballard can become Whitten like if he continues to improve
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

              # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
              2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
              3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
              4-New York Giants!!!
              5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

As do I but he's not even one iota as good as Witten right now, which is my point.

We can get after a tight endonce we add 2 or 3 players to the OL, add 2 or 3 to our LB unit, add a couple of corners and add 1 or 2 running backs.

I lust for an elite TE just like everyone else but given theobvious weaknessesso many other areas, I feel blessed to have Ballard as our guy right now.

Ballard will prob finish the season with around 700 yards receiving and 7 TD's

Not worried about TE at all. An ELIte QB and hopefully ELIte WR in Nicks is good enough for me.

If we had an elite player at QB, WR, and TE ...that would be crazy.

ballards having a very "witten" like year. ballard has done his job and then some, besides the philly game, ballard has played as well as witten imo. he played better than witten when we played them last week.

ballard could very well end up being as good as witten as i disagree about ballard not being one iota as good as witten, witten has played maybe a little bit better this year.

our pass catching options trumps dallas's too imo.

                      nicks trumps bryant
                      cruz trumps austin
                      MM trumps robinson
and ballard is close to witten...

Ballard has 4 TD's on the year and Witten 5...so realistically he would only have 1 more TD. Please tell me all of these "weapons" that Romo has at his "disposal".. I would take Nicks over Bryant. I would take Cruz/Manningham over Robinson/Austin....Ballard is in his FIRST season. He has risen out of the practice squad dust. I am completely happy with Ballard as our TE. Witten is an elite TE but he is in his 7th year. To compare them is not even fair. Give Ballard a year or two and let's see what he can do. Honestly, it sounds like you are drooling over the cowboys offense.

From a neutral perspective I think it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the Giants and 'Boys offenses are as close to equal as you can get from the skill positions. But my homerism obviously favors the Giants weapons over Dallas....

Nicks/Cruz/MM/Ballard all day every day even on a Monday...

What do witten, gonzalez, and jackson all have in common?? They all have years of experience over Jake. Even in college he was a blocking TE, this is 1st yr being used primarily as a catching TE. not to bad if you ask me

Look I love Ballard and I think he could have a bright future here, but the reality is that his ceiling is pretty limited by his lack of athleticism.

And before someone chimes in and says Witten isn't athletic either- You're right but Witten looks like Vernon Davis compared to Ballard.
