  • ESPN - Evidence Supports Gilbride's Claim

"Smith is a beast on the inside, he’s strong, he does as good a job of grabbing a hold of offensive linemen and allowing those twists to take place. He never gets called for it so he gets away with murder. That, in conjunction with the ability level they have, makes them as formidable as anybody we go against, and we go against some pretty good ones in Dallas’ and Philadelphia’s. They’re as good as anybody up front."

I don't watch enough 49er games to know, but how true is this? Anyone have videos of this?

I'll be watching for it on Sunday.

Eh, every O lineman out there tries to get away with whatever he can. No big news there... I'd be more concerned if KG said he was a dirty player...

I wish our stunts and twists got through more often...
"Team sports are a different animal. They tap into deep seeded tribal instincts. Our team vs your team used to be our tribe vs your tribe. Winner takes all – land, plunder, women. You inherently care when you are aligned with a tribe/team. The players are interchangeable but team always stays the same." - JOESONDO from UG forum

Jim Harbaugh: "It’s obvious Giants coaching staff’s sole purpose is to use their high visibility to criticize & influence officiating.”

"WHOA! Jim Harbaugh calls Kevin Gilbride's comments on JSmith an "outrageous, irrational statement .. an absurd analogy"

          https://twitter.com/RapSheet

I wonder if Harbuagh will give Gilbride a hard slap in the back after the game. LOL

              KG kills drives, not coaches...

i love it and so very true ... now i dont expect the officials to give us any calls Sunday on the road, but worth a shot

Keith "Hammer" Hamilton used to get called for defensive holding .... he's the only lineman they really picked on for that ... but it is highly illegal

but even funnier was Harbaugh's statement ... either Harbaugh actually has a sense of humor or he is just a real jackwagon

and, remember, the 49ers started this with announcing a fake finger injury, etc. and more !

Let's hope Harbaugh doesn't try to pull a Buddy Ryan...

This is a good move by Gilbride, but Harbaugh is absolutely right about this being a plea to the officials. Bad move by Jim because he just made this story even more visible by acknowledging it.

Cat's out of the bag now. Justin Smith will have eyes on him all game.

I wonder if Harbaugh goes Buddy Ryan and takes a swing at KG. Remember KG, stand at an angle, block punches with your left arm and punch with your right LOL.

I'd like to see Perry say something about how our D Line has been held all season long.........Kiwi said he has not been held so much since he was an infant LOL

Even though this is a bit "tattle taleing" for my personal tastes, Gilbride is a genius for pointing this out whether it's true or not. I just hope the game doesn't come down to a call on Justin Smith or we won't hear the end of it lol.
