  • *** Official Game Day Thread: Redskins @ Giants***

Here we are at Week 7. We're 4 - 2 at the top of the NFC East. The bad news is we are 0 - 2 within the Division. I don't see this game as a "must win" in terms of getting to the playoffs but I do see it as a "had better win" if we're going to be taken seriously as a contender to repeat.

Our Division games are never easily won. Everyone gets up for these games and most often the team that wants it more gets it. We have twice this season successfully defended against other mobile quarterbacks and the "option." We've never played against RG III so we will find some surprises, I'm sure. But if we maintain discipline, get pressure on RG III, and win the turnover battle we should come out with a convincing win.

I think we will see a running game that the Redskin's defense isn't expecting. Ahmad Bradshaw is coming off 300+ yards over the last two game. Andre Brown has shown he is a very good surrogate for Bradshaw and waiting in the wings is David Wilson with the explosiveness.

We will win the special teams battles on both ends of the field. Wilson will provide us with a shortened field for Eli & Co. to work with and the coverage team will continue to keep the Redskins inside the 20.

We are coming off two wins and need to keep that momentum going. There can be no doubt that beating the 49ers in the manner we did should signal a turn around for a team that had inconsistent. The vaunted Defensive Line was, to much dismay, the weakest link heading into the game in San Francisco. The Linebacking Corps and the Secondary both have made steady improvement to the point where I honestly believe opposing quaterbacks are going to find they have to hold the ball longer due to our excellent coverage down field. Keep Kiwanuka on the Line at either DT or DE and use Rivers to make sure RG III can't get any long gains on foot.

In the final analysis, this is not the team the Redskins played last season.

HERE WE GO, GIANTS, HERE WE GO!!

Looking for a great run game and for Eli to spread the ball around a lot.
Big game for the defensive line.
        Lets go Giants!

What happened with J Williams? I thought we just got him back last week? Also Philips injury must be more then what was originally said. Also thought we'd see some contribution from Ojomo by now.
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                      # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                      2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                      3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                      4-New York Giants!!!
                      5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

It will be interesting to see how much playing time Canty gets, if any.

You can only have so many DE's active and Tracy has been doing well in his limited role
