  • Giants Hope Playing Outdoors vs. The Saints Will Serve As An Advantage

    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...utdoors_v.html

Excerpt: "The last two times the Giants took the field against the Saints it was at the Superdome in New Orleans. They left it losers by lopsided margins in each, 48-27 in October 2009 and 49-24 in Week 12 last season.

Playing indoors on the fast indoor artificial track often works in the Saints' favor -- the Superdome's high decibel level helps, too -- and Sunday the Giants get a chance against them at MetLife Stadium where they won't have such an advantage.

"Hopefully, yes," Coughlin said of having an advantage playing the Saints away from the Superdome. "You're not going to change nay of the skill set or anything of that nature, but it'll be nice to play them at our place."

Regardless of location, the Saints will come to New Jersey with a three-game winning streak over the Giants. New Orleans beat them in their last trip north, 30-7. That was at the old Giants Stadium. Sunday will be their first game at MetLife.

Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt took issue with the notion that the Saints are a dome team.

"We’ve won big games on the road before. We’ve played in bad weather games," Vitt said in a conference call with reporters today. "We’ve played in the snow in Cincinnati two years ago. I know that we lost a heartbreaker to Seattle in a playoff game and it was a bad weather game. We beat the Raiders three weeks ago in Oakland.

"To me it’s always about preparation. You go in there being a properly prepared football team and you’re ready physically, mentally and emotionally. Let the whistle blow and let’s see who the best team is but it’s all going to be about preparation and you can’t really worry about things you can’t control like the weather and the elements. You prepare for them as best you can but right now we’re prepared for the Giants and we’ll see what the weather is." Read more...

Weather report as of Thursday is calling for 48 degrees and 50% chance of rain for Sunday. Could certainly slow them down and make things interesting.

Doesn't matter. If the Giants keep kicking field goals, they are not going to win. Can't worry about the other team and the possible breaks due to the weather. Monday against Washington showed the glaring inconsistency with this team. Gotta fix those issues.

          No jinx this week, RF.

Lets post negatives about the Gmen, stats against us, etc. We need as many backs against the wall as we can get!

if they are publicly hoping the weather helps them slow the Saints down that is completely embarrassing

the Saints have this teams number and I fully expect to lose

We win or lose based on how we play

GB game showed they can play well in all facets of the game.
Washington game showed they can play sloppy and undiciplined.
Saints game, who knows what team your gonna get? We won't know until the game starts.

"Hopefully, yes," Coughlin said. And that comes from the HC! Well, Like Joe Vitt said: "it is all about preparation". Something that Coughlin and his coaching staff have no clue because this team takes the field very often unprepared.

Now we are hoping for the weather to slow teams down. Just make plays and slow them down you DAMN selves. This team is just getting more and more embarrassing. How about this TC " We are hoping that we don't need the weather to slow the down."
