I like his defense. If we had better linebackers this would be an excellent defense. Just sit back and think about how bad our linebackers are. We cannot avoid this issue in the draft.
    sigpicShould the Giants fire Gilbride....

Eight drives and only three scores. The Giants had nine drives and four scores.

That's not true since it obviously didn't happen. Plus the Skins were driving on us when they got the ball with 3mins and change left in the game. If it were 19-17 then, the Skins would likely at least be in field goal range to win the game.

I strongly disagree with the common thought that our defense played a "solid" game. Giving up over 120 yards on the ground to Morris is not considered by any stretch of the imagination solid defense. Giants had a 16-10 lead and the defense let the Skins drive very easily down the field to score a game winning touchdown then in a situation where they needed to force a punt to give Eli one last chance, they failed. Multiple times in fact on that very same drive. Don't let the 17 points fool you

How many times did the offense fail to convert? It goes both ways.

No doubt. It's a team effort win or lose as we all know but the thought that our defense played solid is very very wrong.

What does an "attacking defense" mean anyway? It sounds meaningless. I thought the D was relatively aggressive against the Skins.

With 4 scoring opportunities in the first half the Giants managed to score only 13 points. In the second half they only scored 3 points after the defense gave them the ball on a turn over. The defense allowed them to score once in the second half. That is not bad defense. After Washington took the lead the Giants offense had the ball twice and did nothing.

Ummm I dont think Fewell runs a coward defense. I think he is starting to finally realize that our defensive line is overrated and we can not get pressure with our front 4 anymore. When Fewell decides to blitz, Corey Webster was no safety support makes us wish we never blitzed. Webster is only good when he can guess with safety help over the top. Its a double edge sword....I think Fewell needs to insert Kiwanuka as a starter because Webster can not man up on the best receiver out there. Let Fewell blitz like Sprags and see what happens...we will hate Webster and run him out of town. Trust me!

                      -Make Kiwanuka a starter.
                      -Bench Rivers
                      - Pray Jacqiuen Williams gets healthy
-Ask Reese what he was thinking with our DT and Linebacker depth

If you learned when Spags was here, the Giants ran a lot of blitzes. This gave the chance for some of our D-linemen to get untouched to the qb by confusing the O-line. Now Giants hardly blitz and that is the problem. Fewell put too many men in coverage and many of the look for help too much. It is time for the Giants to blitz more and make plays off of those blitz or take some of those blitz from some of the schemes he has so that it can confuse the O-line.

Giants actually have too many of the same type of rushers except for JPP who has quickness and power. Giants need to add schemes that will get the lbs to come in and be threats on the blitz.

When Sprags was here, he had a more reliable secondary. James Butler and Gibril Wilson were solid safties, Sam Madison and RW Mcquarters were aggressive cornerbacks, Ross and Webster actually had some testosterone in 07. Our Defensive Line was almost unblockable in 07. Strahan, Osi, Tuck, FRED ROBBINS and COFIELD...No1 was blocking us. Todays Defensive Line is a joke compared to that 07 team.

Also dont forget RW Mcquarters was a good blitzer from the nickel corner. We dont have that anymore. Ross was a decent blitzer too.
