  • Cowher Not A Good Fit Here

He would want full control on player personel and the Giants have a very strict power structure. No way Jerry Reese could coexist with a guy like Cowhere here. Only way is if Mara gets rid of Reese too and hires Cowher as coach/GM

Link? Did Cowher say that himself? At this point in his life, I actually think he'd be happy just doing one job or the other not both but who knows.

I don't really think Cowher the answer either but if it get JR down the road then go for it.

JR has depleted this team downward since he's taken over for E.O. period end of story.

All the late year colaspses can be attributed to an obvious lack of quality depth on this team & that's his primary job. Draft & trade for 53 players that can be interchanged through a long season without taking major steps backward. That hasn't happed.

TC has proven every year when he has the starting 22 he can win & win big. 1st half season Giants are usually at the top of the NFC.

When he has to start pullng from the talent well in the 2nd half of the season well there's nothing much to put out on the field hence the late season troubles..

Yeah right.........with all the horrible choices he's made such as taking bums like Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre Paul. Who exactly is E.O. anyhow?

Nicks dropped 14 pts yesterday yeah he had a stellar game. Uh we lost by 13 my bad.

PS: You named 2 players out of what 15 1st, 2nd & 3rd round pics that JR has made since 07. That don't cut it in the NFL.

Just look at the record 1st half vs 2nd half of each season starting in 09. I'll give JR a pass for 08 because of 1st & 2nd year draft pics.

As the starters fall off hurt the losses mount up because of all the early round busts & poor trades.

I know it's hard to swallow but if you drink enough water it will manage to go down.

He is solid at DRAFTING but not in FA. His FA pickups, which cost the team the most cap space, have been aweful for the most part. His drafts have been good, not great. For every gem he got, you could name 2 or 3 that have busted. Not a great ratio.

Yep their secondary & linebacker corp was depleted. No quality depth. Just needed 1 stop but didn't have the players to get-r-done.
                    Simply stated.

Agian Cowher took YEARS to win a SB. He would have been fired at least twice or Giant fans would have long had him fired before he had chance to win SB with Giants.

Im fine with his drafting, but its hard to justify his free agent signings especially when you consider the prices he is paying for them. Make no mistake, the Giants have been 1 of the worst free agency teams of the last 4 years, if not the worst.

When you consider how much money we have tied up in our Dline, a result of Gm negotiations and the performance of that line, who else can you blame? This huge commitment to the dline is really hamstrung us in recent years.

When you consider our lack of impactful linebackers year in and year out without much effort to address the problem, who else can you blame?

When you consider our Oline is 4 years past its prime, and only aging with few young replacements waiting in the stables, who else can you blame?

Reese has to account for his poor free agent performance. In the new CBA there are no more restricted free agents, so rookies can bolt after their initial contract. Therefor, having a guy good at signing and resigning people is essential to team building. We have been anything but....
