  • When was the last time Giants did a fake punt?

The only one I can remember is the Gary Reasons one, so that would be a long time ago.

Does Gilbride know we can do a fake punt? Probably not...

To be fair to Killdrive, a fake punt would be Coughlin's call.
"I like linebackers. I collect 'em. You can't have too many good ones." - Bill Parcells

"Name the starting linebackers from 2007." - Jerry Reese

And Gilbride is not the special teams coach.

Fake punt? I just called the Giants and they said they never heard of such a thing.

You probably just saw the 49ers do it to the Pats and then miss the FG. Giants definitely ran a successful fake punt or 2 in the regular season with Rodney Williams way back.

Preseason last year, derrell Scott ran it for a TD. It worked so well, we never want to do it for real.
WE ALREADY HAVE A GREAT RUNNING BACK:

We only do it when it's irrelevant.

That's because for the Giants, the play calling is generally traditional and conservative, which is fine. This Atlanta game with the 4th downs was a bit unusual but Tynes missing an easy FG early probably had something to do with that.

Last year against the Saints, Coughlin canceled the call last second and Weatherford claims he missed the signal and ran the fake anyway

Yes I remember that. Anyway fake punts and fgs are gimmick plays and when they don't work which is often it gives the opposing team good field position and a ton of momentum.

I think Giants should do a fake anything next week vs Ravens, if not then vs. Eagles for sure because Eagles know us better and would never expect Giants to pull a fake play. That would be sweet!

Oh of course, not something crazy like on our 5 yard line, I'm thinking more like on opponent's 40 yard line. Yeah!!

OMG Tynes can't even make a freaking 25 yarder!!

                          (facepalm)

1991 NFCCG vs SF, Reasons took a fake snap & got us a vital 1st down that lead to a FG. We're about due for another one if not this yr, sometime next yr.
