  • Is It Just A Coincidence That Top QB's With Lousy Defenses Are All

    having down years in 2012?
Maybe Eli, Brees, Big Ben etc are just fatigued from having the games constantly resting on their shoulders, while all the lousy D's are incapable of even keeping a game close.
I could be wrong as hell, it's only a theory after all and I have no other possible explanations.
We blame the QB's for having lousy days, but if your D is leaky as a sieve and can't make even one decent stop to keep the game close.....and the opposition knows you have to throw the ball to get back into the game, how much success are you going to have on any kind of a consistent basis?
I'm just grasping at straws here I know, but I'm at a loss for answers here.

No, the only things that Eli, Brees, an Ben have in common is that their O-lines are crap. All three have been masking it with pocket presence for years, and now can't do a damn thing about it. Rodgers may very well follow suit in a couple years if they don't improve their o-line as well...

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite team in the NFL.

You raise a valid point. Regardless, Eli needs to play better, it's his job.

Like I said...I was just presenting a theory, I wasn't claiming to be right or wrong...it was mostly a question based on an observation.

That doesn't explain the Patriots and Packers both of whom have crappy defenses.
I don't always root for the Cowboys but when I do I wear my pink Jessica Simpson edition Romo jersey. (yes I lost a bet)

As far as Eli is concerned, knowing how smart he is, how he knows the playbook better than anyone else on that team, I'm sorry, but he will always get the benefit of the doubt from me..... that where he threw a pass, that may look errant to us, is where that receiver was SUPPOSED to be.
Especially when he doesn't hit his chest to signal that it's on him, thats when i know that one of his receivers screwed up.
I have always thought that we have been mistaking a slow burn for Eli's blank stare after something goes wrong.

I could care less about his blank stare. He's not playing good football no matter how you slice and dice it. Still a huge Eli fan though.
