Source says David Baas will start at center for Giants this Sat vs Jets: nj.com/giants/index.s #nyg

Is it too early to say we've lost this season and we should focus on the draft now?

If he starts, and he sucks, and they lose, then fire the coaching staff.

      Simple as that.

I've been defending Coughlin until it ****ing hurts. I can't defend going back to a player who has been a failure all season just because Reese signed him for stupid money.

I can only hope they have the nuts to bench him if the o-line does poorly first half.

            This paragraph makes me FURIOUS!!!!!:

The Giants rushed for 301 yards in the three games without Baas, the free-agent acquisition who has dealt with multiple injuries and a quick adjustment period
this season. Kevin Boothe, who filled in at center, will likely slide
to left guard. Mitch Petrus, the second-year lineman who has done an
admirable job, will head back to the bench.

Of course, things could change if Baas suddenly experiences issues once again. But for now, the $27.5-million man is on his way back to the middle of the Giants' line.

I repeat: $27.5 million. Though the Giants have done well in his
absence, you don't pay a guy that kind of money to sit on the bench.

I like Boothe and all but he did get beat badly on a couple of plays and hasn't been the best on shotgun snaps.

I wouldn't mind if Baas gets back out. Honestly I think the contribution of Petrus is what has helped the run game more than Kevin. Boothe is still solid depth if Baas sucks it up but, I still think it's not such a bad thing to see if he can redeem himself.

If Bass plays, we will lose. He is a bust and the O-line has been doing better without him. Get rid of him.

The bad thing is that if Baas starts then Boothe will move over to guard and Petrus will be benched, which is complete bulls### if you ask me...he's been outstanding at creating holes and I don't want to halt his improvement. This O-line was actually starting to go into the right direction and looked like it finally had the right line up working together. Way to #### up their harmony.

If this garbage is true I will have lost all respect for TC and will officially withdraw my support of him.

How one could fathom starting him over Boothe is beyond me especially with the way the line is starting to perform compared to their earlier struggles.......

                            This is a good point.

And even then, maybe there is stuff going on in practice that a casual fan like me simply isn't seeing.

The hype on Baas was he was a forceful blocker with a mean streak. I was actually stoked when they signed Baas. If he's healthy, I'd love to actually see the hype become reality.

I just don't know about Boothe v. Petrus. Petrus has shown fire and punch on the line. I like Boothe alot, but I think Petrus is more physical.

However, if Baas starts, and Petrus sits, and the running game blows, my opinion of Coughlin, Gilbride, and Reese will be in the crapper.
