  • Fewell's contract ends after the season

According to some reports online this is actually the last year of his contract. So they do not have to fire him, just let him go if they choose. It makes things less complicated.

Not if Tom has something to say about it.

TC wants him back so he will be back.

I agree but I think he has a better chance of being let go the Gilbride. As long as Eli is QB, Gilbride will be here.

Why do we think TC wants PF back? TC didn't have a problem letting Tim Lewis go.

Conversely, the Giants don't have the same "lame duck" mentality with coordinators that they do with head coaches (i.e. they aren't afraid to wait until the end of a season to extend a coordinator for the next season(s)).
I don't always root for the Cowboys but when I do I wear my pink Jessica Simpson edition Romo jersey. (yes I lost a bet)

Hallelujah! Any D coordinators out there? Any that we know are gonna be free agents?

Unless ownership steps in, the Giants are expected to go into 2013 with the same coaching staff. Coughlin is expected to endorse keeping both Gilbride and Fewell for 2013 - From Ralph Vacchiano

Lovie Smith is most likely fired if the Bears don't make the playoffs this season. He could be someone to look at. He was part of the braintrust that created the Tampa 2. Bears always had a solid D under him as well.

Id take Lovie though I don't remember his Ram defenses being great. In fact weren't they porous? I know the bears are pretty decent, but as head coach how much is he a part of that? It's not like Coughlin is a huge part of our D....or O for.that matter.

Don't feel like checking it's validity, but if this is the case and we move on from Fewell, I'd love to see Spags come back if he gets out of NO.

Also wouldn't mind seeing Kevin Greene, GBs LBer coach, although he'd probably be a little bit more inclined to run a 34 -- don't know how that would play out.

Oof, Tim Lewis -- wish you hadn't brought that name up. Makes me see red like the name Sinorice Moss.

I'd rather see an overhaul of personnel before overhauling the coaches. Fewell's D played excellent in the last 6 games of the year last year, when the players got healthy and/or decided to show up. I'm not the biggest Fewell fan, but I don't necessarily want him gone either. There are plenty of Tim Lewis's out there that could wind up being his replacement. Or Sheridan's.

If Spags could come back, I'll take him.

We should just keep Fewell if we are essentially gonna bring in a coach with the same philosophy.

Lovie actually wanted Fewell to be his DC before we signed him.

And Eli will continue to put up seasons like this one.
