We plyed our hearts out today... we could of laid down and got rolled over but we blew out the Eagles so we end the season on somewhat of a high note.... finally beat Philly and go out on a blow out win

Glad they showed up and played well; the fact is that they didn't deserve the playoffs.

Disappointing, but it is what it is.

Let's see... some of the obvious being...
                1. Offensive play calls like throwing 15 yards downfield on a 3rd and 2
                2. Abandoning the run for the "big play"
                3. Going for it on 4th and 1 and doing so from the shotgun
                4. No play-action
                5. Keeping #22 on the sideline far too much this year
                6. Using Barton and Randall with great success then forgetting them in the game plan later in the season
                7. The "Soft Zone"... kryptonite to the Giant defense
                8. Corey Webster
                9. Repeating offensive plays that don't work 4 or 5 times per game
                10. Not having a "Player-Leader" in the locker room like the Harry Carson's and Phil Simms of old.
                11. Players saying stupid things like "we're just not having 'fun' out there."
                12. No intensity by the players.

Why do teams like the Patriots still execute game after game... whether they win or lose... their fans know that at least they showed up and played.
                Us... that's another story...

I think the frustration is because we know we're good enough to play at the highest level (2 SB wins in 4 years)... we just don't consistently.

Who's Barton? What team does he play for?

The first inconsistency that needs to be addressed is the perennial second half choke that happens year after year, regardless of who's on the roster. That is a coaching issue, and one that clearly there still is no answer for. I'll take the two super bowls, knowing that they were largely the result of very good fortune; but when teams are consistently 6-2 in the first half and fail to make the playoffs, or squeak in as a wild card with thier backs against the wall, that's a sign of something seriously flawed with the coaching. A team at 6-2 after the first half should walk into the playoffs.

This year I think there was an obvious, huge problem with playing injured players who shouldn't have been on the field. That coupled with a very ineffective use of first year players doomed us. "The benching" was the most flagrant example; but there were others. Randle looked very good when he got time, and instead of using him, Nicks limped around the field getting single coverage from the water boy. Nicks shouldn't have been put in the game, and they should have given Eli a real target. I think Tuck fell into that category some too. Bradshaw coming back from injury and taking away all of Brown's playing time was ridiculous too. When other teams can't wait to get their talented rookies on the field, we seem to make up reasons to keep them off the field. I think this year it really hurt us.
