Curse of the superbowl home team. Saints this year, Colts last year, Miami, Tampa, San Diego ect. It never works out. The NFL won't allow it.
WE ALREADY HAVE A GREAT RUNNING BACK:

This actually worries me. There appears to be a curse for teams who host the Super Bowl.

2013: Saints hosted, finished 7-9. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2012: Colts hosted, finished 2-14. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2011: Cowboys hosted, finished 6-10. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2010: Dolphins hosted, finished 7-9. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2009: Bucs hosted, finished 9-7. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2008: Cardinals hosted, finished 8-8. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2007: Dolphins hosted, finished 6-10. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2006: Lions hosted, finished 5-11. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2005: Jaguars hosted, finished 9-7. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2004: Texans hosted, finished 5-11. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2003: Chargers hosted, finished 8-8. Did not qualify for Playoffs.
2002: Saints hosted, finished 7-9. Did not qualify for Playoffs.

Yeah...that's the past 10 or 11 teams? And none of them have even qualified for the Playoffs.

More concerning is that it involves teams who are typically in contention for the Playoffs. The Saints are typically good, but the one year they host the Super Bowl, they're an awful team. Same for the Colts. And Cowboys.

the Giants were the 1st 9-7 team to win a sb.

why not be the 1st to win one in their home stadium????

Time to dispel that so-called curse. This is the team that beat a team on its bid to perfect season. The only 9-7 team that got outscored in the regular season that won the Super Bowl. We're going against the grain and be a team that gets to play the Super Bowl in their own home turf!

How do you dispel the Coughlin 2nd half collapse?

Maybe the Jets end up as the sacrificial lamb and we end up hoisting the Lombardi.
For a Giant fan that I personally knew: My mom. May she smile and be delighted whenever her favorite player - Victor Cruz - scores a touchdown and does his salsa dance.

Thank you mom for everything! Let's Go Giants!

                      That would be amazing.

It's a toss. Last year we made it all the way to the Super Bowl, this year we won't get to defend the title. It was a combination of bad timing starting from the fact we did not get our bye until 10 games. The bye would have helped us if it occurred right after Sandy, the week we played the Steelers. Maybe we just cashed in our curse a year early, so we can reverse tradition in 2014.

I know one day the Manning bowl will happen. It's just a matter of time.
