    Giants | Jake Ballard won't play Thu, 22 Dec 2011 16:40:59 -0800

New York Giants TE Jake Ballard (knee) said he will definitely not play in Week 16. He's dealing with a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He has not been able to run.

Sorry if posted, didn't see it!

    Unfreakin believable.

He was never a runner anyways, just have him walk through route; he'll get open []

I think his season is done. Just guessing, but it doesn't sound good.

tough break for Ballard. I hope Pascoe can do enough, because Beckum will probably be the usual MIA----LOL!!!

I have had hope that Pascoe would have done what Ballard did and that is tobecome a legit NFL TE.

I still have hopes for Pascoe. I like the kid, he plays hard, and will make the tough catches I believe.

He has his opportunity this saturday. Beckum will get his down field plays but Pascoe will be the "real" TE for the Giants this weekend......

Yes, in all likelihood his season is more than likely over baring a deep playoff run

I tore my PCL over the summer, it's a tough injury to come back from and can't be rushed. The PCL is the main stabilizing ligament in the knee than runs behind ACL & MCL to keep the femur and tibia from overextending. Because of its importance, the PCL is twice as thick as the ACL and rarely injured but when it is, it really disrupts running abilities and overall strength of knee. Surgery is rarely performed unless the PCL is completely torn in combination with an ACL/MCL injury. All Ballard can do is build up the other ligaments and muscles around til it heals... took me about 6-8 weeks to feel comfortable enough even to attempt to run. Depends on how much of a tear he's got.. best of luck Jake!
