  • It wouldn't make sense to keep Diehl at his current salary

For 7 million a year we could sign one of the FA tackles in the league. I would really like to see us go after Brandon Albert from the chiefs. It would make for a significant upgrade on our Oline, similar to when we signed Kmac.

If they can significantly reduce his paycheck and use him in rotatoin only, he'd be worth an other season becasue of his versatility along the oline.

I think someone posted that we still have to pay like 6mil to Diehl if cut. That's 6mil+ whatever we pay the FA. I agree with RF, if he takes a pay cut, he will be useful in a limited role in a rotation.

I'd be willing to risk cutting him outright then offering him a 1 mil 1 year contract to play backup...

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite team in the NFL.

Cutting him would free up around $2 million

Could happen unless he agrees to a cut. Same result, different process.

Even if it saved nothing, he's just awful.

We're stuck with Diehl. We have to pay him 6 mil regardless. It sux, but it is what it is.

Amen. I don't give a damn how many positions on the line he can play. Thats 5 different positions he can hurt us at. Mark my words, if he's on this team next year Coughlin will find a way to put him in the lineup.

I don't know. Maybe he is a better guard than a tackle. It would really suck to eat $6 Mil cutting him. I just don't want to see him out on the end getting blown by. Maybe if he is at guard, the DT may bump into other guys on the way and that will slow his rush a bit. smh. It's like hiding the weenie kid in right field and hoping no one hits that way.

It's almost as if Reese has to save him from himself haha

the giants should be smart and realize no other team in the NFL wants david diehl. if the guy is looking to play another year of football he'll have to sign with the giants and for really cheap
