Don't read into this move much. Rogers is a good backup to have and a good signing by JR because none of our DT proved worthy of ANYTHING last year. We need to draft a DT or bring in a FA that know how to play the run!Because of all of the effort and examination being poured into these predictions, the draft is a robust market that, in the aggregate, does a good job of sorting prospects from top to bottom.1 Yet despite so many people trying to “beat the market,” no single actor can do it consistently. Abnormal returns are likely due to luck, not skill. But that hasn’t stopped NFL executives from behaving with the confidence of traders.

After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-
# of Super Bowl victories since 1985:
1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
4-New York Giants!!!
5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

It's alot easier to play heavy in your 20's than your 30's.
Still though, for the money, it's a nice move by Reese. As a short yardage/goal defender, you can't beat the price/lb."I like linebackers. I collect 'em. You can't have too many good ones." - Bill Parcells
"Name the starting linebackers from 2007." - Jerry Reese

I don't expect a whole lot from Rodgers on the field, but he is a good insurance policy. More importantly, he is an experienced veteran that may help bring along the younger guys. This is a smart contract that doesn't hurt the cap much... good signing. My goal had been to win a championship, work toward the Hall of Fame, have my jersey retired by the team and I`d go in as a lifelong New York Giant, but I`m now resigned to the fact that this won`t happen. -- Michael Strahan, just when you think you're down...

Marvin Austin is truly the wildcard in this scenario......he's possibly one of the biggest "?" on the roster right now.
So, if Austin steps up, or if they get another DT in the draft or FA, then Rodgers can become a valuable role player in short yardage....this would be the best scenario, because it would save wear and tear on him, and also give guys like Tuck a breather.Last edited by joemorrisforprez; 02-10-2013, 02:03 PM."I like linebackers. i think the Giants will draft a d-tackle in the later rounds. they could bring in another vet at a good price!sigpic
