Diehl and Snee walk on water as far as TC is concerned, and he will be very reluctant to replace Diehl, and he will NOT replace Snee this year.
It's popular to say Locklear was so much better than Diehl, but during the latter part of the season, they actually said there was little difference between the two.

I would agree with that but now Locklear's injury may have ended his career and Diehl will be a year older after a year where his skills continue to erode. I still aspire to a stronger starter next year at RT and much better than either of them.
No one remembers who came in second.

I'm not suggesting we want Diehl, especially to start. But to say Locklear was our savior over Diehl just isn't accurate. I hope they draft a stud OT in the first or second round, and I am assuming we keep Beatty and Boothe. If we can't keep those two we need even more help. This is why I think Diehl is still on the roster because they don't know who else is leaving via FA.

We tend to look at individual players without considering what else is happening to the larger puzzle.

We have young pass rushers on the roster and it's time they kicked those tires. Tracy and Ojomo both showed flashes and we need to give them opportunities. If we can't protect Eli better than we did, we're not going to be a much better team than we were. I know he wasn't sacked a lot, but he was hurried a lot and that affected his accuracy and timing. Oline has to be a priority

Games are won and lost in the trenches(for the most part). I would say the defense needs addressing the most. I will go with DT, CB, another athletic LB that can help with the pistol and read option offenses, and of course an OT.

You can find good ol cheap. The same cannot be said about Pass rushers. Pass rushers are much more vital to the team's success than a guard or rt. You are willing to rely on a player that played zero meaningful snaps and a guy that has barely made the team each to year to provide something at the second most important position on a team?

I am willing to see how Tracy and Ojomo do, yes. Everybody talks about future draft picks as some sort of panacea. Yet, once we have them on the team, we can't seem to let them develop into the players we drafted them to be. Both of these guys played behind JPP, Tuck, Osi and Kiwi. How much playing time could they have possibly gotten?

As for Olinemen being "cheap" we have a top 5 LT we may not be able to keep. You can't get by with cheap at Eli's expense.

                    OL, LB, and DT.

I would feel better about those guys if the level of physical talent was higher, However Ojomo especially lacks the physical skill of an elite pass rusher. He has the athletic ability of a DT playing weakside end. Could he contribute? probably but is he going to give the Giants Osi in his best years production which the team needs no way.

We won a super bowl with the two worst OTs in the league two years ago. Our pass rush has won us two super bowls and now everyone wants to rely on bottom of the roster players. Makes no sense.

We're not in a position where either Tracy or Ojomo has to start. I think our best approach is to get them into a scheduled rotation with Tuck, JPP, and Kiwanuka. We're never going to know if what they have is more than raw talent unless we test them. They are on the roster for a reason.

And with the Oline we had last year, Eli had a subpar season having a lot to do with his protection. How do bottom of the roster players move up? Osi is 95% gone. We need pass rushers. I don't know if Ojomo and Tracy are long term answers but we kept them on the roster for a reason

Pass rusher is a position that you cannot gamble on. You need top flight guys. That has been our recipe for success. We have young OL too. Eli had worse protection in 2011 and had a better year, the problem isn't the OL, it's Eli being inconsistent and needing 2 healthy star wrs to be successful.
