  • Agent For Keith Rivers Says There Will Be Talks With Giants About Return

    http://www.giants101.com/2013/02/21/...-about-return/

Excerpt: "When the New York Giants originally acquired linebacker Keith Rivers from the Cincinnati Bengals for a fifth-round draft pick, they did so with hopes that he would stay healthy and prove to be a steal. Unfortunately, that did not happen and Rivers was plagued with a variety of injuries, as he has been his entire career.

The five-year veteran ended up playing in only 11 games, mostly as a reserve, collecting 44 tackles and recovering one fumble. However, he did show flashes that once led to him being the 9th overall pick in the draft, and it may have been enough for the Giants to consider bringing him back in 2013.

“There will be discussions with the Giants about Keith returning," Rivers' agent, Andrew Kessler told the New York Post." Read more...

Honestly I still think he is worth the risk. When he is actually on the field the guy this guy is a sideline to sideline speedster with good size and strength, exactly the type of LB the giants are looking for to defend against running qbs and the option. He is most probably not going to play an entire season but it cant be any worse than this year.

Don't mind keeping him for about a mil.

Is he willing to take vet min? Maybe some incentives based on how many games he actually plays?

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite team in the NFL.

Rivers has to improve from a health standpoint before he commands any significant money!

when healthy he can be a beast but who knows how healthy he can be?:

The guy was a high draft pick that was traded for not that much not long into his career and he missed a bunch of time. How much could he ask for?

                Vet min sounds about right.

Or course he's interested in returning because nobody else is going to show any desire to sign him. I have no interest in bringing him back. He achieved nothing here.

I think Rivers has the size and the speed to improve our MLB position and playing there might reduce his chances for injury...

Bring him back real cheap. Maybe another one year contract or give him an incentive laden contract. It is hard to believe the guy has only been in the NFL for 4 years up until this point.

Of course the agent would say that. His job is to generate interest. I don't know whether he's worth nickles on a dollar but what his agent says now, is immaterial to the outcome.

Of could stay healthy i would love him to be our starting weak side backer but that is a huge "IF" the guy has been hurt his entire career and nothing has changed since he came to the Giants... I think hes just going to waste our time again
