  • Bring back Steve Smith

Why not? Before everyone goes nuts and calls him a traitor you have to understand he made a business decision. The same decision all of you would have made. The giants make decisions that are in their best interest all the time so why can't Steve? Nothing to lose if you sign him cheap. Him and Eli had great chemistry and he was great at getting big first downs.

    In a word "NO"
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
    2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
    4-New York Giants!!!
    5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

He was often a healthy scratch in St Louis. He's not the player you remember. Never mind the fact that the Giants are set at the slot position.

There's no room for Smith here.

Maybe because he's just not very good anymore. We also have a much better slot receiver, Cruz.

If you want him then you take him.

He never really recovered from his injuries. We don't have a glaring need at WR to even consider him.

the guy has 25 receptions in the last 2 seasons combined. either he hasn t healed right or benefitted from our elite qb. probably a little bit of both. Wouldn't take him for free.

I'd bring him back for the minimum.

FYI we are far from set at the slot. JJ must prove his worth and Cruz has yet to sign.
Because of all of the effort and examination being poured into these predictions, the draft is a robust market that, in the aggregate, does a good job of sorting prospects from top to bottom.1 Yet despite so many people trying to “beat the market,” no single actor can do it consistently. Abnormal returns are likely due to luck, not skill. But that hasn’t stopped NFL executives from behaving with the confidence of traders.

His skills have disappeared like a fart in the wind.

He couldn't get on the field for the Rams - even after Amendola went down.

A lot of Smith's value here was attributed to his proficient understanding of the streak-and-read, as well as his rapport with Eli. Athletically, he doesn't stand out, which could explain his down years -- not to mention the injury. I believe he could still be productive here, but we just don't have room for him, and we have a third rounder invested in Jernigan. So as one of Smith's biggest fans, I have to say: no thanks.
