You have to have their replacement on the roster before you can cut any of these guys. And there is nothing saying that we do or will draft possible replacements. At this point, they all have a very real chance of being on the final roster.
    Do not feed the trolls.

I'm really pulling for Marvin Austin to take the next step. Maybe Cullin Jenkins can take him under his wing.

You just confirmed his point. All those guys were late round picks, except Alford (3rd) who was cut due to serious injury (and has done nothing since). High draft picks do not get cut after 2 or 3 seasons; they play out their contract. Your going to compare 7th rounders (Michael Johnson) who played a few years, to a second round pick going into his 3rd year that every knowledgable person knew needed time to develope?I hope your not one of the posters who think late rounds picks all become starters or even make the roster. On a winning team the majority of those picks will not make it long term or even short term.

I love how people think if the giants don't hit on every pick we need to overhaul the front office (not saying that you think this). If people only followed other teams slightly (not only the giants) they would have a better understanding about draft picks, cap space, etc... Instead of just complaining we don't have $60 million in cap space and all our draft picks aren't heading into the hall of fame.

When I look at past performance and the current roster I see a few guys that have a slim chance of wearing Blue again this season:

          Jim Cordle
          Tyler Sash
          Marvin Austin
          Ryan Torain
I know Ryan Mundy was not on our squad in 2012, but I don't think he is a lock at safety. I think he will compete with Tyler Sash for the 4th safety position.

Sash has shown basically nothing yet so if Mundy can't beat him out we don't need him....

Oh I agree. Sash is pretty solid on ST. But he has not shown enough, in my opinion, to be starter worthy.

To try to predict who's going to be cut before the draft, training camp or OTA is mental **********. A lot can change between now and the end of August.

If Barden signs back up this discussion has to be about him right? Sash lost his place when W.Hill signed on

I think who is on the bubble is dependant upon who Reese is able to get through the draft or possibly free agency. I'm sure he has plans to replace people but if there is no one to replace that person then they'll be there for at least another year.

No one you mentioned was a second round pick so I don't know what any of these guys have to do with Marvin Austin, Clint Sintim, and Will Beatty

I would think that the way JR looks at it, half the team could be replaced if he finds a player with better skills, upside potential and at a lower price. Continuous improvement has to be the mindset with any team. The only reason that high draft choices hung around so long in the past was that there was dead money attached to them. The new CBA has improved that considerably. I expect us to cut ties quicker with draft day mistakes in the future.
No one remembers who came in second.

That's very true. So now, when we keep a draft pick, like Jernigan, who has, to us, not performed up to expectations, we can assume they see things in those players we don't.
