That is the absolute worst way to look at player salaries, lol.

    • Cruz is a great receiver, and can become a real problem for defenders, be he is NOT a physical player..not nearly as physical as Nicks.

if nicks is so dominant why is his best season almost 400 yards less than cruz's best? cruz' worst season was 100 yards less than nicks best,,so what are you really saying? cruz avg's more yards per catch, and has 8 less touchdowns in 2 less seasons. thats dominant? ok then. cruz and nicks are basically the same size, nicks having bigger hand.

No, you were making a blanket statement about Nicks' career, which was not true. And again, you make the same sweeping judgement about Nicks' injuries in this post. Nicks is healthy most of the time. With the exception of last season, his injuries have not greatly affected his play. When he is healthy, which is the vast majority of the time, he is a dominant outside receiver. He can consistently beat double coverage, and there's a few routes where it doesn't even matter if he's covered, he'll still beat you.

Nicks uncovers a lot of things for Cruz, and if Nicks didn't have the second best post season ever for a WR (only second to Rice, can't remember the year), then Cruz wouldn't have been able to do what he did.

Because Nicks is basically doubled almost every possession. Nobody knew who the hell Cruz was or how to cover him.

I here what you are saying Rosey....Idk the system of pay in the nfl is out of control..... imo....everybody wants to get all they can get.....and idiots paying guys more than they are worth... there is just not enough money to go around ....pay scale system.

Stats are a highly flawed and impartial way to look at who is a better receiver, particularly when one of those players plays in the slot. The slot is easier to play (more route options, not cordoned off by the sideline, etc) and actually generates YAC that is not frequently opened up for outside receivers. Nicks also draws more attention than Cruz; this has a twofold effect, one being Nicks doesn't have the same opportunities for targets and two being that Cruz has less attention and is the beneficiary by getting more targets and then having fewer defenders in his immediate area.

10 drops a year is A LOT, especially 2 years running.

And a lot of those drops aren't contested, they are just flat out drops...what?

Yeah, he does seem to have 3-4 drops a season where he's just wide open and miffs it because he's starting to make his next move before securing the ball.

Once or twice, that's fine..but it's becoming a habit and that's troublesome. You aren't going to be wide open all the time, make the best of them.

No one will offer a first regardless. As an interested team, you dictate the offer Cruz's party would receive.
