  • Kit O'Brien On Giants' Tryout Invite: "It Was Like A Dream Come True"

    http://www.giants101.com/2013/05/06/...eam-come-true/

Excerpt: "Ball State offensive lineman Kitt O'Brien went undrafted during the 2013 NFL Draft, but like most UDFA, he remained hopeful that a team would eventually give him a ring and an opportunity. And that opportunity, coincidentally enough, came on his birthday.

While talking to his Grandmother, who was wishing him well on his special day, O'Brien received a call from his agent who had some good news: the New York Giants had invited him to their rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis. He had also been invited to tryout for the Detroit Lions.

“It was like a dream come true,” O’Brien said less than two hours after getting the call. “It’s all the good things that I’ve always wanted and it’s coming to fruition.”

The 6'5'', 325 lbs. guard was then left to weigh his options: did he have a better chance of earning a spot with the Lions or the Giants, who have obvious holes along the offensive line? The question, as it turned out, was a no brainer and O'Brien went with Big Blue." Read more...

They certainly are looking at a lot of wide bodies. When John Mara suggested they needed to improve in the trenches, someone was listening.

Out of a group of 10 new faces may come a couple of keepers. We need so much help to upgrade the OL and its depth, that I think we should cast a wide net (which seems like their approach on both sides of the ball this off season)
No one remembers who came in second.
