I hope you are right because the line did not look like it has changed. It looked like more of the same to me.

I learned that the starting O line looked like complete **** in the first preseason game ... just like they looked like completely **** in last years first preseason game

Is that bad coaching? Bad drafting/ free agent signings? Combo of both? Should the giants trade for someone?

looks to me to be ****ty players for the most part

I don't think there are 2 or 3 guys on this line who are more than back up players on most teams in this league

And the Season before s first pre season game. Past two years there was no improvement as the pre Season rolled on. Hopefully this year is different??

Pittsburgh starting D was in our backfield every play it seemed. That's not what we wanted to see after all the hype we been hearing all off season how they all been working and training to improve their craft & get better. That is disheartening and frustrating to see & watch. Eli, Marshall & Odell would not have made any difference. If anything they were at least saved embarrassment for at least one week
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

            # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
            2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
            3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
            4-New York Giants!!!
            5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

            • I really hope Reese takes the blinders off before it's to late and try and make a trade or something before another season of promise goes down the tubes

I will give it one more week hoping they were just shaking the rust off and will improve. But if the Browns line Manhandles them then he'd better start looking for Plan "B" if there even is one..

Buffalo, Eagles & s 3rd team just pulled off a trade why can't the Giant's do it for a solid vet Lineman and give up a few 2018 picks to maybe push us over the top

Good olinemen are gold and you better be ready to give up something good to get one. Teams are extremely overprotective of the good ones that they have. Reese is a smart guy. He has most likely made several inquiries. However, the asking prices may be too high.

We shouldn't fall into the "first pre-season game trap." I am not saying you are, just cautioning others.

Why can our top three tight ends, none of whom were here last year, know their blocking assignments and execute them beautifully when our OL, most of whom have played alongside each other for 3 years now can look like they never played the game?

The problem is not the first pre-season game. it is the ****ty talent on the OL.
No one remembers who came in second.

                  • Besides everything being discussed, this game showed that the so called Eli "homers" are giants fans and will continue to support the giants long after he's retired.

Two, we shouldn't be in any haste to get rid of him. Last night's game proved that even though he isn't a mobile qb, he masked a lot of the flaws of our offense with his skill and smarts.

That only goes so far. In the end to win a trophy he is going to need better protection then this. He might be able to mask it enough to pull out a few games that the D keeps us in but in the end not scoring enough per game will spell our doom

Well many said that the last two pre Seasons. It's a new O it will be fine once they master it, it's only the first pre Season game, they were just consentrating on the run game, it's only the 2nd pre Season game chill, they are just running simple formations and doing a vanilla O as to not tip their hand to the other teams, it's only the 3rd pre Season game, it's Just the 4th pre season game and everyone knows no team plays starters in week 4, just wait till the regular season starts then will see them unvail the full playbook..... On and on man

Someone on the staff needs to build a blocking scheme that works with the O-line we have. It needs to utilize its strengths and hide the weaknesses . Other teams can do it. At this point I don't see Reese making a big move. What we have now is not getting it done.

                            Yes...............same old stuff.
Why can 3 brand new TEs only one with real NFL playing experience all look crisp and the entire OL, together for 3 years still look like ****?
It is not freaking rocket science, it is just football and they are not good at it..

We are going to have to do this with mirrors this year. Fortunately we have a bunch of play makers to mask the obvious inadequacies of the OL.

You bring out a good point. It's not like they get beat once in awhile over last three years. On each play one or more of them are getting blown off the line into the backfield which results in a Sack, throw away, Costly INT, dropping the RB for a big loss ( how many times in past three years has 1st & 10 turned into 2nd and 13 or 14??? ) Or in a lot of cases a costly holding penalty. Also how may false starts do we need to see out of this unit?? Ridiculous
