It was a great play call. Eli had 3 options after the fake handoff. Funny no one bashing Ben on that call even though it was a pass, much like the Eagles game where Shep dropped it after he hit the ground. Ben hasnt been as bad as everyone wants him to be with the play calling. They just need a scapegoat. The players just suck and arent executing the plays. Large part of it is we cant run with this OL.

This was the only play all game that actually had any thought and creativity.
Doesn't anyone ever wonder why every pass Eli throws is contested. Look at Winston. He was hitting guys wide open due to study and play design. Our guys are simply not put in a position win each play.

You want to know a huge part of why? Because Eli doesnt have the time to throw that Winston has, and doesnt have the legs to roll around like Winston to buy time. That helps WRs get open.

Eli actually had a more time than Winston on Sunday - albeit a fraction of a second. Winston was hitting guys wide open because our D was busting assignments all over the place.

This was actually a really smart dial up by Mac. He wanted to sell the run, and thats exactly what happened.

Every single pass is contested. Literally ever single one except that TD to Ellison. No margin for error for this guy, every pass has to be pin point.

Though Eli was moving and side stepping pretty good vs the Bucs. But your right Eli doesn't have time to not only go thru progressions but God forbid he have time to look back at a receiver. Your right Analyst.

every pass is contested because no team fears our run game at all so they drop 7 into coverage. We have to run the ball, hopefully Gallman can give this offense the spark it needs and help open up the pass game.

What's your problem with the play? It worked. You actually have a problem with this?

And he has like am 80% completion for the year.

if he had some stable OL play I still feel eli has not hit his ceiling.

due to the horrific job done by the GM since 2010 really, eli has not been put in an actual situation to max out his ability. The closest we got was 2011 and even then last ranked run game and OL. Reese just got insanely lucky with Cruz and eli as eli has always done, elevated his receivers far beyond what was expected. Said it throughout his career: plex on pitt was just another guy who caused trouble and had dumb plays like spiking a catch after not being touched down. Comes here: superstar.
Steve Smith 2nd round pick no actual speed but insanely quick. Most saw as a 2 or 3. Becomes a pro bowl stud 100 plus catches.

nicks was prob one of the most well rounded receivers and he had one of the greatest post seasons ever.

Cruz UDFA. One of the best stories in franchise history.

                          ODB

Heck Derek Hagan went from not being signed by any team, getting a contract off the couch bc of injury to every wr we had, and at Philly in 2010 has 2 td grabs his first live action in like 2 plus years. Goes on to get a guaranteed contract from Oakland lol.

                          MM.

                          etc etc

one constant through these guys and give whatever excuse one wants but it doesn't change this 1 constant: each guy way out performed expectations here and didn t come close to meeting them anywhere else.

Ballard boss etc guys no team even considered viable...

one except might be Bennett and he was one of elis biggest fans.

give him some damn OL play.

know what makes this all even more disgusting and sickening:

Reese has failed a guy with an iron man streak this ol keeps failing a guy with an iron man streak.

the players on the line don't seem to actually get it when they let a free rush go by. It jeopardizes everything eli has worked towards and established.

the individual(s) getting beat cleanly should be throwing up after the play with how sick they are with themselves for jeopardizing a streak that began long before them.

and Reese should seriously be suicidal for how poor a job he's done. He should thank his blessed God for having a qb who can conceal the issues with his lack of doing the job well. Instead he takes pot shots calling him skittish etc.

just makes me sick this aspect of it.
