doesn't seem like there is much risk of that happening regardless of who starts at QB

There are actually many reasons that Eli should start and Webb should stay on the bench. What we don't know is if any reason applies to the situation the Giants are currently in because we do not have the access required to make such a determination. Whether or not you trust the organization to make the correct decision with access to all the information is up to your own opinion. Right or wrong the Giants have made the decision that right now it is in the team's best interest to continue to play Eli Manning. To say that there is "no sense" in this decision only highlights your inability to accept that you do not have all the information. To say that you don't see the sense would be a more acurate assessment.

You said all that to say I don't have all the information? No fan does. IMO it makes no sense to start a 37 yrs old QB with no chance of going to the playoffs.

Why is anyone worried about winning another game. We're better off losing them all and getting the #1 pick! As far as Eli goes, this is not about him. Looking at Webb is vital to making some evaluation of his long term potential. But the biggest single problem this team has is an OL that can't generate a running game or protection for whoever the QB is. I think it's pretty obvious that Eli has been mediocre at best this year, but I don't want to see him killed out there.

What makes you believe he should do what you think?

I asked this in a different thread. Don't hold your breath for a response.

A lot of people complaining about him but some day will realize what we had when we don't have it any longer
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                    2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                    3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                    4-New York Giants!!!
                    5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

Manning is the best option at QB. The Giants may go into evaluating for the future later in the year if they keep losing. Replacing Manning with Webb just tells every other team the Giants have given up (which they may have already).

                            Eli should bench himself?

but first tell your boss to find another employee, younger and hungrier to replace you for the betterment of the company.

What kind of evaluation are you actually gonna get on Webb playing behind this o-line and with this receiver group. Youre more likely to get the kid killed and shatter any confidence he has.

Wow, what a strange statement, I guess the Mara family does not have influence wit this team. If playing Webb were in the best interest of this team he would be playing. I want Webb to play to see if there is enough there to not have to draft a QB this year or see if JR wasted another valuable draft pick.
