Giants fans throw that word around like it's candy. Ig a coach doesn't win The super bowl every year, somebody on here is calling for his head.
We didn't win the Super Bowl last year...I don't recall anybody calling for McAdoo's head at the end of last season.

You are right. Spags definitely deserves heat for this as well. You have unknown running backs from multiple oppositions running wild against a supposedly stout D anchored by Snacks.

The defense have been bad all year.

I don't disagree it's been disappointing. But it wasn't the complete sieve it is now.

Let's stop pretending that if the Giants defense stop quitting they'd be good. They sucked long before they decided to quit.
The defense is bad now because the offense couldn’t stay on the field to even give them a chance to rest. Defense was out there all game long. They are burned out and injured. McCadoo’s play calling was awful.

Honestly, what would it accomplish other than appeasing the fans (which is something to actually consider at this point)? It's not like Sullivan or Spags are really inspiring options as interim coach.

Also, it is likely too late in the year to really think about firing Reese, too. Would think it would be too hard for a new GM to come on and get ready for the draft.

That is such crap. The defense has had trouble getting off the field on 3rd down all year long. That isn't the offense's fault.

I hear ya. Not saying he should or shouldn’t. Also, you can’t compare the Giants squad with another squad (SF) both different and both in a unique situation.

                        Its actually pretty comical.
They won games last year with a simple formula. Play great defense and throw a timely, fourth quarter, 5 yard slant to Beckham that he will run in for 70 yards, leading to a win of 3 points or less. McAdoo had very little to do with the defense.

I do think he deserves credit for the season, but they went 11-5 and got massacred in the wild card round. Is that anything special? Not really. What may be special is how bad we are this year. I've been a fan of this team for well over 30 years and I've never seen anything like this.

You tell me what defines you more: presiding over a solid but unspectacular team that wins a bunch of close games with an all time easy schedule and then gets destroyed in the wildcard round, or presiding over the worst team in the modern era of the franchise's history.

2012 that defense was just bad throughout the year and they just got outplayed in both of those games. 2010 in GB they were actually in that game into the third quarter and it just got away from them. The combined records of those Falcons, Ravens and Packers teams (two eventual Super Bowl champions and one number one seed in Atlanta) was 33-9... 33 more wins than the 49ers had yesterday.

In neither season's situations did the defense quit like they have this year.

You thought they mailed it in with the playoff berth on the line in 2010?? No freaking way they did. We flat out got beat to a team that was on a mission. The 2012 team just wasn't good enough down the stretch. I don't recall any of those players mailing it in with the playoff berth on the line going into week 17 that year.

Totally agree. We just weren't good enough and the playoffs were still in reach unlike this year.

It is the same defense as last years. Nobody was talking crap about the D last year. That’s because the offense played better but it was still crap. Now they’re both crap as you say.
