  • Agent for Leach: Giants Will Not Be Creative

    http://www.giants101.com/2013/06/26/...o-be-creative/

Excerpt: "The New York Giants chances of landing free agent fullback Vonta Leach are very slim, but they remain in the mix for the veterans services, despite the Miami Dolphins emerging as the front runners.

Leach's agent, Ralph Vitolo, spoke to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post and said that the Giants are in fact a great fit and that he and Leach would visit if they wanted to.

“Vonta will visit if the Giants ask him to,’’ Leach’s agent, Ralph Vitolo, told The Post Wednesday morning. “No team has been excluded. The Giants are a great fit also but we have to be creative.’’

Earlier on Wednesday, Vitolo told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that hesees his client landing with the Dolphins because it's the right place to be and they were working on the numbers for a potential contract.

"Asked if he believes Leach will sign with Miami, Vitolo said: “I think so. I hope so. It’s the right place to be. We’re trying to crunch the numbers." Read more...

If he has been paying attention to Cruz he should already know, if they made an offer it is what it is, might as well pack his bags to Miami.

I gotta think hed rather a multi year deal than a 1 year cheap deal with us. Doesnt make a whole lot of sense for him since we have hyno. That is unless he wants a rong this year.

u gotta figure, that since he's nearing the end of his prime and thus career, he's gonna want as long a contract as possible.

if no teams were showing interest, a 1 yr deal might get it done, but its clear there are teams willing to pay. if miami and the other teams were to drop out for his services all of a sudden id love our chances to sign him. dont see that happening and never really believed he was that likely to happen. we just gotta hope hyno recovers ASAP and bear can fill in as long as need be...ugh. granted bear has been competent at times in run blocking, times even good, he's a holding penalty on a key play waiting to happen imo...

was his holding a prob when he was playing FB too?/ I know he had a few while at TE. I have faith in Pascoe at FB.

They've been creative enough for Cruz. A few more tweaks and it should get done.

While I would love to get leach on the team, there is no sense in making irraional decessions with money to obtain him.. Thankfully, we have a smart front office and they will offer a reasonable/rational offer and if he choses to play for the best organization in the NFL good on him, I'd love the addition, but if he choses to go somewhere else for whatever reason, best of luck pal....... we just need someone who can help pick up the blitz and block back there if pascoe can do it effectivly than were set, but make no mistake our oline is a ? mark and wilson will still be learning, so FB is a pretty pressing issue with hyno out. We need all the help with the blocking we can get.

There is a man out for some money, and the way we are strapped I don't think this will be a place for him.

                      So be it.

If he's looking to fade out into retirement, he will have plenty of company in Florida. If he wants to contend for another SB, he can join the Giants. If it's all about $ the Giants will not get into a bidding war. A lot of prospective players don't take into account the money made in sponsorships and other opportunities in NY.

I don't want to spend money on a FB. If the Giants have any extra $$, then spend it on a quality LB.

                            Are there any left?

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite team in the NFL.

Nope, and $3 mil wouldn't buy one, anyway.
