  • Giants' Position Review: Tight Ends

    http://insidefootball.com/blog/archives/6309

Excerpt: "Each weekend day, we bring you one positional preview as we lead up to the start of training camp. Today we look at the tight ends.

    The Candidates:
Bear Pascoe, Brandon Myers, Adrien Robinson, Larry Donnell, Jamie Childers, Chase Clement (R)

    Key Injuries:
    Donnell (foot; estimated return unknown)

    Battles to Watch:
There are really no battles at this position as it’s assumed that Myers and Pascoe will be the primary two guys, though Pascoe will need to spend some of his time at fullback until Henry Hynoski is healthy enough to return. So instead, we’ll be watching each battle, as in players trying to overcome their deficiencies to take the next step in their development.

To that end, tops on our list of guys to watch is Robinson, the second-year player who, according to tight ends coach Mike Pope has made progress, but who still isn’t quite a finished product yet. We really liked what we saw of Robinson in the OTAs and minicamp, and his size and jump ball ability are very intriguing, especially down in the red zone. So we are curious to see if the coaches continue to experiment with lining him up in the slot to create mismatches." Read more...

Rooting for them all but really want to see what Robinson can do. Hopefully he learned a lot and is ready. He has great athletic ability. Doesn't hurt having a great TE coach.

I agree...time to see what he can do.

Decent stable of TE with a good blend of skills and NFL experience. Add the upside of Robinson and this is not the unit to lose sleep over.
No one remembers who came in second.
