Giants Have The 6th Lowest Arrest Totals In NFL Since 2000

          http://www.giants101.com/2013/07/01/...fl-since-2000/

Excerpt: "When you look at the arrest rate in the NFL, it's incredible, and to be quite honest, a shame how many professional players get themselves in trouble with the law. But, according to a recent study — which was published shortly after former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested for murder — the New York Giants have the sixth lowest arrest total in the NFL since the 2000 season.

They have had 13 total arrests in that 13 year span; some of which include Plaxico Burress back in 2009 for his self-inflicted gunshot wound in the Manhattan night club which lead to him serving two years in prison, David Diehl back in 2012 for DUI (driving under the influence) and Kareem McKenzie back in 2008 for DWI (driving while intoxicated). One of the worst cases may have been Jeremiah Parker, who was only on the team for four games in 2000, but was released by the Giants after he was arrested for physical abuse of a child.

Parker was acquitted of aggravated manslaughter, but was sentenced to 10 years for abuse of the child, who eventually died from the abuse suffered from Parker and his ex-girlfriend." Read more...

In my opinion, that is a testament to the staff/player relationships our organization has. Seems as if we have quality mentors on our staff. Folks that can help young players stay on the right track and reach the level of maturity they need to survive in the NFL. So many of these players come from isolated lives; years of training and practicing, training and practicing, training and practicing. Such a life can potentially lead you to not mature in other areas. As such, having quality mentors to help you navigate changes as a professional is essential. The New York Giants know that they can't sit back and hope that those mentors organically exist in the players lives, they are proactive about initiating and supporting the relationships. Kudos to our staff for taking a holistic view point on this issue!

+1 When Reese sees talent that is affected by personal issues, he goes the extra mile to see if he can't get the players' heads on straight. Domenik Hixon and Ahmad Bradshaw were two examples both of whom turned out to be pretty good citizens/players.

Surprising Philly has less. Also sort of surprising that Dallas has only two more... well sorta. I probably should've known that considering I don't remember too many of those occurrences.
