  • Keeping OBJ won't constitute a Super Bowl

Why spend enourmous money on OBJ when the notion is very clear; elite WR's aren't winning Super Bowls.

    Larry Fitz - 0
    Randy Moss - 0
    Antonio Brown - 0
    T.O. - 0
    Dez Bryant - 0
    Roddy White - 0
    Julio Jones - 0
    Calvin Johnson - 0
    Steve Smith Sr. - 0
    Andre Johnson - 0
    Brandon Marshall - 0
    AJ Green - 0
    Chad Johnson - 0

It seems that the teams who play as a team and don't have to force the ball to a specific guy to keep them happy are the ones winning it all. This makes a nice arguement towards using OBJ for trade to fill out our roster to become a complete team.

Agree here. Superstar WRs and RBs only matter when it comes to video games and fantasy football. People are so obsessed with the wrong parts of how to build a championship team. It like they ignore the last 50 yrs of pro football and the evidence that clearly show defense and trenches win championships.

Now get ready for 50 people to pour in here and suggest Barkley and OBJ are somehow going to save the franchise... Ask for evidence of their opinion and watch the struggle.

I've said it before, fantasy football has ruined what people perceive to be important for championship roster building. Casual fans of the sport, nothing more.

OBJ will want far to large of a pizza slice. Trench players, you know the players actually responsible for championships, tend to need large slices of pizza themselves. You can't feed everyone.

The OP makes a good point with that list. The same could also be said about superstar RBs like Adrian Peterson, Ladainian Tomlinson, Priest Holmes, Jamaal Charles, etc. I guess the point is you have to be careful allocating too much money to any one single player other than maybe your QB. If you pay a huge contract out to a wide receiver, AND you have an elite QB, you will struggle to be able to afford a good defense and good offensive line.

I think we can win a superbowl with OBJ with better personnel. But OBJ has to have his act together & be a bit more mature.

"Sir, I was wondering: did you happen to catch the professional football contest on television last night?"
                  "No...I didn't."
"Oh it was most exhilarating: the Giants of NY took on the Packers of Green Bay and in the end the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big H. It was a most ripping victory."

I will simplify it. The OP tried to make a point by alienating our best player and failed miserably. An automatic rebuttal to his flawed argument is Jerry Rice.
