Carolina's RBs averaged about 3 yards per carry last year and people are acting as if he is this old school, hard nosed guru who knows how to build grind it offenses. Cam Newton was Carolina's running game. Cam Newton was Carolina's offense. What is the logic behind your statements? The Giants did so and so stuff so it must be brilliant is nonsense. The Giants hired Ben McAdoo. The Giants just went 3-13. And where did I reference Jerry Reese in the statement you quoted me on? I said we switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and on paper Gettleman has assembled what looks to be one of the worst pass rushing teams in the NFL. Where do you expect the 2018 Giants to rank in sacks?
I expect them to be slightly better than they have been for the past few years. That would still put them at the bottom of the league but that's the advantage of starting from essentially last place.

I like to think we were lucky to get such a high 3rd round pick in exchange for an under performing DE who has an enormous contract. It's more about the cap relief we'll have in the years to come when we have to re-sign Landon Collins and Odell Beckham.

The Offensive Line is the heartbeat of your football team.

Bad eye for O-Line = Bad GM

Jerry Reese = Bad eye for O-Line = Bad GM

        Comprende?

And that high 3rd round pick has the same skill-set as All-Pro Kawann Short coming out of college.

            Absolutely. As simple as that.

Sure. On paper our pass rush is worse. It's not a argument. In 2017 JPP & Vernon had 15 sacks combined. In 2017 the entire front 7 opening 2018 as our starters had 15 sacks combined. JPP had the same amount of sacks as the starting front 7 not named Vernon. From a "win now" standpoint that does not make a lot of sense.
who are this years starting front 7? what is your source for their sack numbers?

                Olivier Vernon - 7 Sacks

                Kareem Martin - 1 Sack

                Josh Mauro - 1 Sack

                Alec Ogletree - 2 Sacks

                Damon Harrison - 1.5 sacks

                BJ Goodson - 0 Sacks

                Dalvin Tomlinson - 1 Sack

That is a total of 13.5 sacks for our projected starting front 7 with 2 rookies not listed who will play in rotation. JPP had 8 sacks so how has our pass rush been upgraded? None of these guys sniff the QB except Vernon who wa already here.
