His elusiveness will help him avoid taking a typical NFL RB pounding and extend his career. The negative RB people here don't realize it. Par for the course.

Penn State RBs are historically epic busts. Hopefully Barkley somehow bucks that trend...
what would the college have anything to do with whether a player "busts" in the NFL??

By that thinking, no NFL RB should ever get 20+ carries a game . And I guess all the RBs in the HOF who played 10+yrs & carried the ball 20+ x per game for their entire career didn't get Morehead's memo.

The league has changed my friend. the best athletes are on defense.
Go find a single RB who has averaged 320 carries over the past even 3 years, let alone 5 or more.

They don't exist. If a RB in today's NFL has 3 or more years with an average of 320 carries per season they won't last to age 27. That is fact.

Go look at the numbers over the past few years. Only a few backs have had 320 carries in a single season in recent history, and none over a several year period.

So , you're saying the league has evolved along with the west Coast Offense and that power football will never be played again and can not be successful.

So do as everyone else does? Is that what you're saying? What if the Giants wanna win by smashmouth football & via a heavy dose of the ground game? Just cuz the rules are so lax now for the passing attack doesn't mean you don't pound the ball 25+ a game. The Giants have lacked a run game for 5yrs, how well has that served them? 5 of the past 6 seasons, watching the playoffs on TV.

And again, by that mindset, there should be no more RBs starting from this yr on that will ever amass the type of rushing #s needed to make the HOF. Should 250 carries be the max a RB should carry the rock & maybe crack 1200yds with 8 TDs on the season? That comes out to 15 carries pg for 75ypg for your #1 RB, that ain't winning you too many games either. That's 37.5 yds per half.

The 1000yd barrier is nothing now in a 16 game season. A decent RB can achieve that by just getting 62.5ypg. IMO, the top backs should be cracking the 1400+ yd barrier for an avg of at least 87.5ypg, that will help you move the chains & win the TOP on an almost weekly basis.

Back when they played 12-14 game seasons, getting 1000 was more impressive, but with 2 extra games now, the 1000yd mark is no biggie. That's why OJ's 2003 yds in 14 games is the most impressive rushing season in NFL history IMO. He was the entire Bills O & opposing Ds still couldn't stop him from rushing for a staggering 143ypg, 12 TDs & help Buffalo to a 9-5 record. Had he played 16 games that yr, he woulda rushed for 2289yds which would still be the all time record as ED had 2105 in 16 games & rushed for 131 ypg with 14 TDs. He also had another 107 yds vs the Giants in the WC game that yr. Rams had no good QBs that yr as Jeff Kemp was the starter.

Eli led the NFL last yr in pass attempts per game with 38.1, that is a clear sign of zero run game.

Exactly. His speed & ability to avoid tackles and contact will be key like you said. Let J. Stewart be the wrecking ball. He weighs 240 and is capable of running people over at the goal line
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                4-New York Giants!!!
                5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

The defenses might be faster now than when Sanders player but they were much better at tackling back then. Teams arenít going to get away with arm tackles on a 230+ pound RB.

Not at all. I'm saying one back getting that many carries every season won't last. That's why in recent history it's almost always been teams with backs that split carries that win SB's. Those teams are smart...Including the 2007 and 2011 Giants.

if we want to win....we will have to split carries. No one guy is getting 20+ carries per game. That is suicide these days.

This guy is too corny. If someone said itís hot outside he would reply with ďso whatís the opposite?Ē Just so he can open his mouth. Probably one of those annoying co workers who tries to tag along for lunch but gets ignored and wonder why.

Getting tired of trying to help you understand basic **** isn't deflecting, it's frustrating. At first I thought you were pretending to be ignorant but you really didn't get the joke. Seriously man, I hope you are under constant supervision in case you forget how to breath.
