  • Giants offense vs. Bears offense

Not sure who watched last night's Bears game...but there was something in the 1st quarter that even Collingsworth pointed it out. The Bears oline is suspect this year but the Bears started off the game with shotgun and very quick routes/throws. Cutler was releasing the ball and the dline wasn't even off the ball. Collingsworth said Trestman wanted to let Cutler and the offense get off some quick passes, get their feet under them and slow down the defensive pass rush. The Giants used to do this when they played the eagles, when Jim Johnson was dcord, extremely quick throws. And they were very successful in doing it. You can wait until the 2nd quarter/3rd quarter to start throwing quicker. The defense is already on fire and the offense is already beat down. Even after Eli had been sacked several times...Gilbride was still calling 5 to 7 step drops...almost unreal. Gilbride is terrible at adjusting...either his system works or it doesn't. It seems evident that the only way Gilbride can get his system going is with deep balls. The oline can't handle this right now; thus, it's becoming closer and closer to make a change to the ocord.

This is exactly how i see it but most people want to swear nothing can be done about our terrible O line. We have to make adjustments. You cant keep calling the same plays because you will get the same results.

      Yep, agree.

Other teams have bad offensive-lines, other teams are adjusting.

the ball has to come out quicker. some of those sacks were on golden boy eli. get the ball out in under 3 seconds and you won't get sacked KG is going to have to get away from the run and shoot stuff...go to uptempo dink and dunk 2 minute drill

Totally agree - 1.6 seconds 1.75 seconds and ball out - and its not like they stuck with this or had to the rest of the game.
