If Tiki wasn't the most supreme of ******bags and stuck with the team when they needed him most, he'd have marshall faulk numbers and a ring. But he retired, and we won the super bowl without him anyway. Shows you how much we REALLY needed him.

You really wanted him back. You actually sound like a bigger Tiki fan than I am.

Tiki could beat you in so many ways, and he ran with power for a smaller back to boot. He was such a incredible RB..

I did want him back... for about 6 or so weeks into the 2007 season.

I promptly posted stats to prove otherwise and guys did not back up their opinions with facts. Guys instead chose to talk about what a leader Gifford was, yada yada yada.... So I download 2 Giants championships from the 60's and I was not very impressed when comparing to the football that I grew up watching.

So let me start this debate up once again and hopefully people use logic and not emotion as people seem to be very sore over Tiki retiring. So since guys ran from the facts last time, allow me to start up the debate again.

Tiki leads Bavaro and Gifford in every stat that matters to an offensive player. TD's, Rec's and Yards From Scrimmage.

Now please tell me who have you seen in a Giants uniform better than Tiki.
How many playoff wins did we have with Tiki? That chirping sound you hear is crickets. Tiki can't hold Joe Morris's jock strap. Morris had over 20 TD's in their Super Bowl season. Everyone in the building knew Morris was gonna run between the left tackle and left guard and still couldn't stop him.

The Giants, until recently, weren't known for their offensive prowess, but we are trying to compare very different eras. Tiki was great for the Giants, but the offenses he was in, and the defenses they played against don't compare to the earlier years of the NFL. If you watch the 86 season, especially games later in the season, what you will see is an offense that physically dominated any defense they played. The offensive line could maul anyone put in front of them, and was the key to that SB run. Everyone on the field knew they were going to run, but the defense could do nothing to stop it.

For me, I would give the best offensive weapon to them, the offensive line from 86, not an individual skill position.
My goal had been to win a championship, work toward the Hall of Fame, have my jersey retired by the team and I`d go in as a lifelong New York Giant, but I`m now resigned to the fact that this won`t happen. -- Michael Strahan, just when you think you're down...

Jim Brown and its not even close................... to Gayle Sayers as #2..........at QB I think Rodger Staubach was far and away the best ever......he still holds the all-time percentage completion avg though he came from a dead ball era stacked against passing

At WR I liked Homer Jones.......and I'm not being a "Homer" pardon the pun..........Homer was devastating, avg about 22yd per catch

Joe had one play the backside pitch or handoff.........Tiki could beat you in so many ways.......It was not Tiki's job to carry 53 guys to the Lombardi every year
                      He is but one man

Tiki had 10000 yds to Morris 5000 and Tiki Avg almost a yd more per carry both played 8-10 seasons

I thought they wanted the "best"

Giants best offensive player ever was Fran Tarkenton and its not even close......he won games on a bad team almost single-handedly.........all he had to throw to was Bob Tucker who was a much better receiver than Bavaro

Sorry to those who never got to see Tarkenton play......watch some You Tube clips

Really? I love Jacobs game but #1 offensive player? Bradshaw was pretty much on the same level as Jacobs and tiki was better than both of them

And than there's our future HOF QB ofc lol

Football is a team sport. Not making the playoff frequently is not any fault of Tiki's and the point makes no sense. The guy carried the team for years, but because he didn't get a ring, u turn tail on the guy.

Joe Morris had a far better O-Line IMO and a better team, with a veteran QB and a hall of fame coach. And you let me know who holds the NY Giants rushing records.....
