I remember the speeches by Marahowwe were the supposed worst team to make the playoffs. Then the Worst team to win that first round game then the worst team to win the NFC CG and in 2 wks we will be the worst team to win the SB...lol. remember that.

Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
    2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
    4-New York Giants!!!
    5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

Was that during the Guarantee season where Fassel said that the team would make the playoffs.?

2000 is what i am remembering when Mara said that but, we were 12-4 that year. (preseason 0-4 LOL)Closed that season out with 5wins in a row and a 20-10 win of eagles before destroying the vikes in nfccg 41-0 and got kicked around by ravens in SB.

Couldnt have been 07 cause Mara passed away in 05....

          anyone have any thoughts

                Yep it was 2000.

here is a quote from Mara......

"This team was referred to as the worst team ever to win the home-field advantage in the National Football League," Giants co-owner Wellington Mara said. "And today, on our field of painted mud, we proved we're the worst team ever to win the NFC championship. In two weeks, we're going to try to become the worst team ever to win the Super Bowl."

That was said right after we disposed of the 2pt favorite Vikings 41-0

although i dont really remember why we were considered we were the worst team to win home field?

What was home record that year?

                  overall we were 12-4

Because there werent too many power house teams on their schedule. They floundered against the Rams and Lions, which lead to the poker chip guarantee. They did slap around Andy Reid, Cowher, Coughlin, and i dont think they lost a division game. But a 7-4 team eventually holding the number 1 record in the conference was what gave them that stigma.

By the way, were the All In towels a nod towards "this team is going to the playoffs"?
