• The 9ers will be too emotional and will cost them the game

one thing i've noticed about the 9ers, not only are their players extremely emotional, their head coach is as well.

playing with emotion can be a good thing when kept in check, like how the giants feed off emotion but dont lose their cool. but when ur head coach is dropping things, falling over himself, screaming and making hand gestures...it costs them.

remember at the end of the game when the 9ers played the saints and harbaugh was so emotional he nearly didnt get to call the time out before the final play?
or how davis was crying? not only will they be very emotional, they will have a sort of hang over lull from last week.

thats why eli should get a lot more credit than he does. he keeps his keel even no matter the situation. even coughlin this run, he hasnt done his "turn red and start spitting when he screams" spiel. i cant think of another coach who would have been able to keep his cool when that jennings fumble ref bs happened but he did.

the giants will be calculated and focused, while the 9ers will be emotional and all over the place. and that almost always results in a critical error.

also, on a side note, whitner sucks ball sack in coverage and im guaranteeing eli attacks his zones on the field.

game will be close the first quarter and a half, then before the 2 min drill at the end of the half, giants go up by two scores.

gb at home, even if they were "rusty" is still 10x more difficult to beat in lambau then beating the 9ers in san frannie.

great run for the 9ers, but the cinderella story strikes midnight early in 49er land.

also, eli is prob the best big game qb in the league. smith has done well, but he wont be able to match what eli gets done on offense.

It will be something like 85 bears when we played them at solider field in bad weather.
    We melted under the pressure.
We had a punter whiff on a punt and a whole host of other unforced errors due to INEXPERIENCE

It will show up in a big way against niners today

I think if their is an undoing for the niners it won't be emotional reasons.

I think it will have more to do with inexperience. Alex smith has all of 1 playoff game to fall back on. Rookie HC. Nobody on niners has been through what Eli (5 road playoff wins) and our head coach TC (6 Road playoff wins, 1 shy of all time record set by Tom Landry) and a whole host of giants that have been through this in 07 and know what kind of pressure a game this huge can do to u. Niners were 6-10 last season and no playoffs in 8 years.

The giants and manning will not be phased by this.

Don't think it will be an issue for the 9ers, if not at first...

Well I sure hope the Giants players and coaches feel the same way you do. The 49ers have been one of the most well coached, grounded teams in the league. They never panic and are always in control. How else do you explain 7 4th quarter comebacks?

Oh, and to the OP, where in the world did you get this "dropping things, falling over himself, screaming and making hand gestures" bit about Harbaugh from?

Can you provide a link stating that the 49ers have 7 4th quarter comebacks?
Perhaps I am mistaken as I can only think of 6 of them. They have beaten (by way of 4th quarter comebacks) Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Detroit, New York, Seattle, and of course New Orleans.

Regardless, it is still very impressive and the point remains the same, the 49ers are very cool cucumbers and are not letting their emotions get the best of them like many of said.

The team hasn't been in the playoffs since 2002. Almost a decade of terrible losing football and how many coaches? First year head coach, first playoff game, players who were mired on losing teams, comeback win, I can understand it.

It's a fine line. Emotion can fuel you but I think those guys boiled over last week.

I would've been celebrating too if I just knocked the 'sexy Saints' back to their comfy dome

9ers will lose because the giants are the better team and will outplay them on sunday, not because of emotions on either side.

I'll tell you all one thing, the 49ers will not let last weeks big game affect them this week. The 49ers players stay grounded and humble and havent said one thing this week. Watching this 49ers team this year, Coach Harbaugh will have them ready and focused. Each one of the players and Harbaugh said it, ''we'll celebrate today's victory, but starting tomorrow its back to business". While many of you may want to find little excuses for the Niners blowing this game, lets be real here, these are professionals and I know the Niners are hungry to get to the Super Bowl.
