GIANTS' TE JAKE BALLARD QUESTIONABLE WITH KNEE INJURY, BAAS SICK

    "New York running backAhmad Bradshawreturned
to practice Friday, but the Giants unexpectedly were short two other
players on offense during their final practice before departing for
Sunday's NFC Championship Gameagainst theSan Francisco 49ers.

Giants tight endJake Ballardand centerDavid Baasdid not participate during the portion of Friday's practice that members of the media could observe. Ballard eventually was listed as questionableafter it was revealed a medical procedure had been performed on his knee.

    Coach
Tom Coughlin told reporters following practice about the procedure.
Ballard's sore knee sidelined him for the final two games of the regular
season.Ballard did not undergo surgery, Coughlin said via NFL Network's Albert Breer, but he did experience some swelling.

Baas was listed as probable and apparentlycaught the same stomach bugthat caused quarterbackEli Manningtomiss part of Wednesday's practice.
Baas has not appeared on the Giants' injury report since healing from a
neck injury that bothered him late in the season. Baas' most recent
injury listing came before the Giants' Week 16 win over theNew York Jets, according to The Star-Ledger.

    Bradshaw
has consistently missed Wednesday and Thursday practices since
returning from a mid-season foot injury, but tends to get back on the
    field by Friday."

maybe Ballard just having his knee drained. I would think any other "surgery" type procedure would have him out for Sunday.

I think he'll play. He probably had his knee drained or something.

Both will play. Was just posted on twitter that Ballard had a minor procedure and is feeling better then he did last week when he played vs the pack. Baas has the stomach bug but should be fine by Sunday. Even with no Baas, I wouldn't hate seeing Petrus in there. Ballard will go, Baas I'd say 95%.
Because he's got no knees and I know how to type.

Ballard with his knee injury is even slower than usual but really he doesnt need to be fast. He just needs to get out, be big and catch the ball when it is thrown to him. We have the skill at wideout so that he doesnt need to have that downfield threat.

Well let's not chance it and put Petrus back there. We ran better anyway.

exactly, i knew Eli would be fine by game time, but now who else ... well he does get pretty up close and personal with Baas, so let's hope it doesn't go beyond him

On a separate note, if Baas is indeed dealing with Manning's stomach bug, maybe that's not such a bad thing. What I mean is the last time the Giants were in the NFC Championship Game, they were dealing with a stomach bug that made its way around the locker room. In fact, it actually resulted in some frozen vomit on LT David Diehl's face mask.

The bug stuck with the team all the way until its trip to Arizona. And that worked out just fine, remember?

Diehl is one seriously superstitious dude. I wouldn't be shocked if he tried to contract the bug on purpose...
