  • Can't have Manningham & Nicks as your two starting WR's

I said it at the beginning of the year and I still believe it is the case. Both are very talented but injury prone. You can't rely on them to suit up and be in the field. At least one has to go. Hopefully repleaced by a durable, reliable player.

    Agreed.

can we add that we need someone who catches the ball better than these guys too?

i don't mind having some guy who drops the ball occasionally but has the speed and ability to tear up an offense.

but who's the guy on this offense that we throw to when we ABSOLUTELY have to have a caught ball?

used to be Toomer, then Smith, now no one.

Hard for me to argue with a guy who quotes from The Outlaw Josey Wales!! One of my alltime favorites.

Very true.... And I for one dont think that Mario is that talented. (may get a lot of crap for that statement but could care less)

There are a lot of Mario Manninghams in the NFL IMO... LOTS.

Manningham is a shifty receiver. Very quick. Decent hands. Average route runner. A little above average straight away speed. Poor strenth. Little ability to break a tackle. Not great size. Average/below average awareness and football smarts.

when you sum it up he is very average IMO.

Maybe a top 40 or so in the league type and very injury prone....

I agree...he seems to drop the ball at the worst possible times, especially in the end-zone or when wide open down the field, and his football smarts are not good

He's fragile and with Rosenhaus as his agent i don't see us resigning him causse we have limited cap as it is and we should use that money on the o-line or lbs...let someone else overpay for him

I feel that next year we'll have Nicks and Barden on the outside with Cruz in the slot and Jernigan as our 4th

Barden is iffy as well cause he hasn't seen much of the field, but with Mario out for possibly a week or two, maybe Barden can step up and produce for the remainder of the season and be a factor for us next year

You don't think Cruz is or can be that receiver? Yes, he drops some balls, but he gets separation, runs good routes, is improving his pre-snap reads and has Eli's confidence, He does make some amazing catches.

Don't know the answer to that question about who can be the go to guy but going in another direction I would like to have a real threat at the TE position. Next years draft crop at TE is not good at all and I would love if the Giants can snag away Jermichael Finley from the Packers. This guy can be that go to guy in the middle of the field, a nightmare mismatch for any D, he can line up anywhere making life easier for the WRs in every team.
The sad part ???? Salary cap and more glearing needs in other positions . I don't see the Giants going after a FA TE next year. Can't remember if the Giants have signed an impact TE FA ever , no difference next year.

Totally agree, one has to go and obviously it's Manningham. I think they both are part of the lacking in between the ears department of this team of the past 3 years. We need to get Eli a porcshe like the Falcons gave Ryan and the Bengals gave Dalton. A great young wideout with Cruz and when Nicks is healthy he can do his thing but he's to injury prone and drops the easy balls to often for year 3 to count on him to be a great number 1

Top 40 in the league...theres 32 teams and he's our 3rd most productive WR on the team. Think about that for a second. That's pretty good if you ask me.

As for injury prone, he was the only WR we had suited up for all 16 games last year.

Not sure if serious. Nicks is the best WR to ever wear a Giants uniform. And Cruz is already better than Manningham.
