  • Will there be an NFC championship celebration for fans at the stadium?

The last time the Giants went to the Super Bowl there was a celebration at Giants Stadium after the parade in NYC. I am hoping they do this again because it really was a fantastic time. You were able to tailgate as if you were at an actual game and the stadium celebration was done very well i.e. special recognition was given to Tyree for his infamous Helmet Catch and Strahan did his Stomp Out speech. Has anyone heard anything yet?

You realize last night wasn't the Super Bowl, right?

We don't celebrate conference championships. They have about 20 of those.

The team still has a game to prepare for.

Don't mean to quibble with you, but up through 1963, those would be NFL championships, not Conference championships......and they would have been reason to celebrate as, at that time, that was the end of the road.

The Jets celebrate conference championships. Oh no, wait a sec ... they celebrate going to conference championships. That's good enough for them.

Up to 1932 championships were won by standing (Giants won in 1927 that way).

From 1933-1966 there were two divisions in football and the division winners played in the NFL Championship game. The NFL Championship Game was the end of the road, not winning the division/conference.

The Giants won in 1934, 1938, and 1956, and lost the title game in the rest. Those division titles are the equivalent of today's conference championships in that they sent the winner to the championship game.

lol, I know how many the Giants have won (7, with a possible 8th on the way) so that's a lot of heartbreaking losses!

This is a great question. Im sure there wont be anything for NFC Champs but if (and we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves) we do win it all again. It would be a great thing if they do the stadium celebration. I was at the 2007 one and it was an awesome time! Im sure we will hear more in the next two weeks!! For now, just embrace in the fact that we have made it and we are in the SUPER BOWL!!!

I know, talk to some of the old timers who were around when they went 6 times in 8 years (56 58 59 61 62 63) and only won once.

Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                              # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                              2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                              3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                              4-New York Giants!!!
                              5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!
