  • For those interested in Curtis Lofton....

Its KFFL (which I find to be generally reliable) so take from it what
you will, but it seems to me that though a "tackling machine", as some
have put it, he's not a Nickle type LB (obviously not many Mikes are...)
and we already have a guy like that named Goff. Didn't he have a ton of
tackles the year before he got hurt?

Obviously we dont know how hes gonna come back, but I dont know that we
need a "sexy" FA pickup for a guy thats gonna be subbed by Prince, T2,
or Ross while leaving in JWil and Boley on passing downs anyway.

Falcons | Curtis Lofton seen as liability in third-down situations

    Fri, 10 Feb 2012 19:31:55 -0800

Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan wants to remove LB Curtis Lofton
out of the team's "sub" third-down coverage schemes, as he is seen as a
    liability in third-down situations.
    Re-signing the superb two-down
linebacker is a priority for the team, however. Lofton is scheduled to
become an unrestricted free agent March 13.

I'm not interested in FAs, and especially higher profile ones.

Our LB play has improved immensely. We may not have a standout stud / pro-bowler, but we're good enough, finally, and actually have depth with Kiwi, Boley, Goff (he will return), Blackburn, J.Williams, and Herz.

If we draft a LB as BPA, then fine. But no FAs.
