if only we has a time macine

i know it's the past but imagine where we would be talent wise if we could change the second round of the 2006 nfl draft

44 New York Giants (from Baltimore) Sinorice Moss Wide receiver Miami (Florida)
45 Tennessee (from Philadelphia) LenDale White Running back Southern California
46 St. Louis Joe Klopfenstein Tight end Colorado
47 Green Bay (from Atlanta) Daryn Colledge Offensive tackle Boise State
48 Minnesota Cedric Griffin Cornerback Texas
49 New York Jets (from Dallas) Kellen Clemens Quarterback Oregon
50 San Diego Marcus McNeill Offensive tackle Auburn
51 Minnesota (from Miami) Ryan Cook Center New Mexico
52 Green Bay (from New England) Greg Jennings Wide receiver Western Michigan
53 Dallas (from New York Jets) Anthony Fasano Tight end Notre Dame
54 Kansas City Bernard Pollard Safety Purdue
55 Cincinnati Andrew Whitworth Offensive tackle LSU
56 Baltimore (from New York Giants) Chris Chester Center Oklahoma
57 Chicago Devin Hester Cornerback Miami (Florida)
58 Carolina Richard Marshall Cornerback Fresno State
59 Tampa Bay Jeremy Trueblood Offensive tackle Boston College
60 Jacksonville Maurice Jones-Drew Running back UCLA
61 Denver Tony Scheffler Tight end Western Michigan
62 Indianapolis Tim Jennings Cornerback Georgia
63 Seattle Darryl Tapp Defensive end Virginia Tech
64 Minnesota (from Pittsburgh) Tarvaris Jackson Quarterback Alabama State

instead of sinorice moss we could of drafted devin hester, maurice jones-drew or greg jennings. i would of even been glad to tavaris jackson taken instead as he would be a great backup qb for us.

    2007 nfl stats

greg jennings- 53 receptions, 920 yards, 12 td's    27 career reg games played

    mjd-167 carries, 768 yards, 9 rushing td's             31 career reg games played

             46 receptions,436 yards, 2 touchdowns

    and finally

    sinorice moss 21 receptions, 225 yards, 0 td's        19 career regular games

wish we knew then what we know now.

feel free to talk about other players or other drafts in this thread as well

Re: if only we has a time macine

came to my mind  for some reason, can you imagine how genius the 49 ers would of looked if they took frank gore at number 1 instead of alex smith, i bet 25 out of 32 teams wish they could redo the 2005 draft, damn near the whole top ten picks were busts, poor vikings

depends on your definition of bust perhaps, but I only see 2 guys who have been a bust in the top 10 of 05, Benson and Williamson.  Williamson is only 25 though, so he has time to get it together.

Benson, I dont think, will be allowed to play

    Alford, Osi, Kiwi, and Tuck

You guys are talking about the 2005 draft. Have I been missing something?

Marcus Mcneill would look awesome as our LT.  Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

alex smith, pacman jones, mike williams. i've heard people call cadillac and brown bust because of injuries( i don't agree but it's out there)

alex smith?  The same guy who put up 2,900 yards and 16 TDs in 06?   Perhaps hes not as great as a first overall pick should be, but hes not a bust.

Mike Williams I forgot. Most injury prone WR in NFL history, i think. lol

EA passed on devin hester wow and for sinorice moss! Hopefully teams not picking manningham can work out for us like it didn't work out for us here

Don't give up yet on Sinorice.  I think he's ready for a break out year.

Re: if only we has a time macine

Sinorice won't get many reps and in 3 years he hasn't done much so sadly if anybody wants him than we should take it.

and in 2006 every team in the league passed on Colston 6+ times.

    Thats how the draft works.

Re: if only we has a time macine

No doubt Devin Hester and Maurine-Jones Drew turned out to be the top of that list.

But yea, drafts just turn out that way. You can't predict how well and motivated a college player will train and prepare himself for the NFL and what the outcome will be.

Scouts take care of the talent, no one takes care of determination.
