Nope the Mets fans are too busy getting excited about the Mets "pwning" the Marlins to worry about winning World Series.

I can do the "on paper" thing with you but I don't think I have to prove to you beyond a reasonable doubt that the Mets have a pretty good lineup and a much much much better pitching staff then the yanks do this year.  I mean you are throwing 2 unproven rookies into the top 5....either way it is a long season and it is way too early to get excited about anything but the start of the regular season.  The Mets look fantastic so fatr and the Yanks look just okay....I think both teams will be there come september and hopefully for my sake the Mets will make their bones with new generation and move on to the world series this year...Hopefully that will be against the Yanks but alas the SOX have OWNED the yanks...like i've said before we have come to expect that kind of embarrassment from my Mets but the Yanks have no excuse....

How do we look just okay? The yankees didn't even play a game yet?

They do? They totally OWNED US? I didn't realize we didn't win any games against them last year or the year before...and yes...I know about the collapse in 2004....but OWNED?? Um..ok....
I believe last year there were 18 games between the Yankees and Red Sux...we won 10....but yeah...they sure OWNED us.........

Both NY Teams are pretty good....and we have a long season ahead of us....before any Mets or Yankees fans start planning on taking a day off for a Parade down the canyon of heroes...let's just see what happens...

Post season play is not a automatic guarantee FOR anyone....ya never know what is gonna happen over the course of a season.....

Good luck to the Mets.....hopefully y'all won't disappear like many did after the collapse last year.....

for fans that are quick to take off there shoes and sox to count world titles and remind everyone who likes another team what is really important your ignorance surprises me...take all the season series you like all that matters is the sox have 2 and you guys have zero in the last 4 years....and I don't want to hear that the Yanks didn't play the sox in the playoffs since '04 because you have to be worthy to play in the ALSC and the Yanks weren't GOOD enough where the Sox were.  that's being owned by your divisional rival. take all the regular season wins that you want.  the sox finished in first and the Yanks got knocked out in the first...again...and save your mets rhetoric, i actually am a fan of my team....i know that we stink on a general basis....when none of your rookies pan out the way you want and the yanks miss the playoffs this year (prediction!) your bandwagon butt won't want to talk baseball anymore

I became a Yankees fan in the 80's when they sucked ***....nothing will change the love for my team....and no matter what happens this year...I will ALWAYS talk baseball...as will a number of yankees fans.....

Yeah the phillies, the braves, and the marlins owned us last year but thats the mets for you...the funny thing is with their young nucleus they should get a number of shots at it...y'all isn't a phrase for writing, it's for saying....to tell you the truth I like the yanks.  Jeter is a class A person and he makes it hard to hate the yanks.  At least one superstar in baseball really gets it.  It looks like David Wright may have those same qualitites...the only difference is David Wright will also put up good numbers....Jeter did compete for a batting title but I think he really needs to win one.  Just to prove to everyone that only goes by the stats that it wasn't a fluke...i'm pretty sure bandwagoner is not a word...It makes little sense to even argue with a yankees fan.  yYou guys are numero uno in every major category and now with Arod going for 800 in the new Yankee stadium, its only going to get worse (or better depending on how you look at it)...but since you guys accept responsibilty for everything that is great in baseball you must, as the kings, accept responsibility for the Boston Red Sox.  Since you want all the credit you definitely have to take the blame for making us all live in a world where the Red Sox are champs...2 out of 4!!!!  I am very disappointed the Yankees have allowed this to happen. At least the Phils haven't won yet....We keep a much heavier city under wraps and with a little help from the Rockies last year we plans to keep that way!  Get a hold of you division man!  Then come meet the far superior team in New York in the World Series!

ur a mutt... i had some moeny on the mets last night and so i acutally watched them... that lineup is SO OVERRATED its ridiculous... and lets look at the past... we've owned them in the reg season. 2007 - 11-9 ( in our favor) 2006 - 11-9 (in our favor) 2005 - 10-9 ( in our favor) and they beat us in ONE playoff series... why don't u blame the rest of the league

no i blame you guys because you are very quick to bolster yourselves as the reason they went 86 years without a title....don't push the blame off on the rest of the league now that you can't handle them....typical yankee fan.  you want all the credit but then make up excuses when you obviously have no ground to stand on  here.

You really want to get *** why don't you open your eyes to the FACT that MLB and Bud Selig gear the league up towards a Sox/Yankee post season match up every year...You talk about other divisions and how bad the national league is well all I see is the Angels out west...every other team only grooms their super stars to go to bigger market teams....it is clear the mlb has saw to it under Selig that no other  AL East team will be aloud to compete with the Sox and yanks because the more possible it is that they face each other the more possible it is the MLB cashes a big ratings check at the end of the year.  Think about it, when was the last time the orioles were good...don't you find that the least bit odd????  i do at least in the NL it's anyones ball game...that's baseball...oh yeah and we don't use any pansy a-ss, re-tarded handi capped DH rule to bolster fans interest either....God American league play and control has ruined baseball....make it fair again!!!!!

Wang is good but he is no ace....I am pretty sure if I had all those games to pitch against the crap team (besides the SOx) in the AL east I could pull a 19 win series....Imagine Santana on the Yanks or Sox...he would win 30 games.  The rest of your staff is garbage..Hughes is good...Kennedy is overrated and Pettite and Moose are done....not to mention that pen...you can't use Jaba everyday and Farnesworth blows....good luck because when the season comes down to pitching you are going to need it....I would take the top 4 starters on the Mets over ANY Yankee starter.

It was very refreshing to watch last nights game. It had a playoff atmosphere to it...very exciting....

Wang and Melky showed up last night. I'm glad he got his first win opening day. He won19 last year and missed a month! If he can stay healthy he should easily get 20 wins....

I'm also glad they didn't get rid of Melky.....

I am also happy that Melky is still here. He's obviously an upper tier CF for sure. Also if Moose can just get us 10-15 with a 4.75 era, our staff is going to be sick!!

Thanks for capitalizing OVERRATED FOR ME!  Anyone see what the Mets lineup did to the fish...Not to mention what our 4th starter did on the mound...If you didn't see it then shame on you...That's how you play baseball...What are the Yanks up to?  Anything good???
