so what are your realistic hopes for this season?

I hope the blowsux trip and fall into a deep ravine....

Re: NEW YORK YANKEES V2.0 THREAD

you know our young guys kind of make us a wild card of sorts.

on the one hand we could possibly self destruct, on the other, shock the League.

truthfully, I'd like to see us put it on the sox and jays but...

'sides Jeter deserves a ring, he needs the Strahan Treatment you know what i'm saying?

i don't have access to the internet at this time but i got to visist Yankees.com and brush up on this year's team. i'll be damned if i gotta root for the cubs or chisox....fudge that!!!!

GO GIANTS ...(and whoever plays against the boys, egirls and skins!)

Re: NEW YORK YANKEES V2.0 THREAD

The Yankees pitching corps has a lot of potential...I think it's going to be a lot of fun to watch them come together this season.

And it's looking more and more like Doug Mientkiewicz will be on the Pirates bench this season...so the Pirates and Yanks do have a connection this season! Stick out tongue [:P]

Good luck to your Yanks! I am sorry that Paul Maholm had to strike Billy Crystal out, though!

The Sox and their fans are worse then Cowboys fans. Non stop whining and complaining.

Coming from a Mets fan I wish the Yanks and their fans good luck.  I want to see a subway series this year.  how great would it be to close out both ball parks like that.  all you got to do is take out the sox...i have faith.  we'll handle the phils...i hope we don't gift wrap it for them like we did last year anyway

AMEN to that, it's about time (again). As a Yankees fan i wish the Mets Luck as well and hope you guys rep NY if my guys fail to do so.

oh, i know Jeter has a ring or 4 but somehow I feel he needs another...plus Matsui needs one. he told me so. Stick out tongue [:P]

Re: NEW YORK YANKEES V2.0 THREAD

I'm looking forward to this season more so than the last few ones.
I like what I'm seeing from Girardi a lot
and I like the young players in crucial spots

We'll see how it all works out

One thing I hope that does happen this year is the Yankees start off stronger than they have the last couple years.  It seems like the past seasons the Yankees are a .500 ball club at the All Star break and then have to play like .700 or better ball the rest of the way.

I'm hoping the new manager can change that around.  I think he will.

    inexorably:

    you ain't lyin'..

i am excited for our young guns, Hughes and Chamberlain can become the "new era" 1-2 punch and i still believe in Wang & Pettitte.

(sorry i am still baffled as to WHY Pava-ho, Bum Bruney and Farnsworthless Scrub are still wearing the uni?)

For my realistic HOPE is that we show the League that we're not slipping into mediocrity and instead we show 'em our fangs. I actually hope that we are strong this year and win a WS next year. i.e. we re-load this year, get a little younger where we need to and re-claim our glory.

i feel like if we were to win the WS this year it would almost be cheap. why? now, the bandwagoners are really thinning out. suddenly "everyone" is a blowsux fan and it sickens me to my stomach. i want the free-loaders to clear out in totality and leave the real behind.

people think the BX Bombers are now made mortal and to be honest our last couple of post-season forays kind of shows this. (I like Mo alot but it is time I think to get younger there as well.)

well i've babbled long enough...here's hoping that Joe G. can help this team re-find themselves and reclaim their Identity as AL East/ AL Champions at minimum, WS Champs at max!!!

    GO YANKEES !!!
