    Fili Moala

The big DT from USC (6'5 310 with room to grow)   had his stock drop to probable second rounder after he got arrested...  the district attorney declined to press charges for lack of evidence.

I think this may allow the giants to take him in the first next draft.

Unless we have a horrible season (like 3-13) we wont have a chance to get Maualuga or Laurinaitis. Who i believe will both be top 10 (if not top 5) picks.

    Alford, Osi, Kiwi, and Tuck

Yes, and we would love to have a big body guy who demands double teams. We dont have one of those.
Alford and Robbins are good run blockers and great 3 techniques, Cofield is a decent NT, but he has to go after linemen to get doubled, he seeks that second player out.  We dont reall have a DT who the offense has to double.

I dont see us drafting another strong side backer in the first.

i'm not arguing slipknot i'm just saying that right now we have what we have and if we have a 3-13 next season because our dt's couldn't stop the run then i hope we go after this guy but until then we have robbins, cofield, and alford

First, we wont go into the season with 3 DTs. (last season we had five on the roster) Secondly, its not about a guy to stop the run, its about someone so big and strong that two offensive linemen have to block him.  Leaving our ends and the other DT in one on one matchups.

    Re: Fili Moala

what i meant about the run is he keeps blockers off the lb's who stop the run if i see a guy on pierce every play then i'm gonna be on here screaming to draft this guy. sorry for not emphazizing that.

and props to you you really know your stuff, glad to read your post

    Re: Fili Moala

Staying on the USC roster... TAYLOR MAYS. The safety. 6'4 220+ with excellent speed. Just one of those players that have all the right tools to be successful. Imagine him with Phillips. Can you say Range? WOW!

For safety I am thinking more Myron Rolle (FSU )  or Kam Chancellor ( VT )

    Re: Fili Moala

Next years safety class is ridiculous. Myron Rolle, Keith Ellison, Taylor Mays, Kam Chancellor, William Moore. It's stacked. Kind of how it was last year with the linemen talent.

Tell me about it....some poster around here seem to think that the G-Men have addressed the secondary with the Phillips pick but I think next year they will draft another top flight safety like Rolle or Mays.

USC defensive tackle Fili Moala was arrested early Sunday morning for resisting and obstructing an officer after a melee at a Newport Beach bar was broken up by police. Moala posted $500 bail Sunday morning. The fight broke out at 3950 Campus Road in Newport Beach in the parking lot of Hoagie Barmichaels bar. Officers from the Newport Beach and Irvine police as well as the Orange County sheriffs department arrived and ordered everyone in the vicinity on the ground. Moala (Western High) initially cooperated, according to Newport Beach Sgt. Evan Sailor, but then got up and ran into the bar. An officer followed and arrested Moala, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds. The fight was between John Vuki, 19 of Buena Park, who was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and a 17-year old from Long Beach, who was arrested for battery. Sailor said one of the men swung a bat at the other. "(Moala) was not part of the fight at all, but police were dealing with mass bedlam and when a guy gets up and runs away it doesn't help things," Sailor said. It's unclear whether Moala would be charged. As of Friday afternoon, no charges had been filed with the Orange County District's Attorney office. - Mark Saxon, OC Register
