Props to Hixon

Hixon is a good player. And an excellent team player. Funny thing is he is making more money than Cruz and Nicks this year!! Lol

But seriously, hes performed at a high level and he deserves all the praise.

I was not high on Hixon. Glad to eat some crow on that one.
I do think his big play ability is well behind MH, but thats about it.

Assuming nicks is back (not just in the game mind you).
Keep bennet and bradshaw in for max protect,
put hixon in the slot and cruz/nicks on the outside. I think
that could be a bunch of trouble for even the niners D.

Who is MH?

Hixon has been showing why he was above Cruz on the depth chart going into 2011 season. Yeah that's not the case anymore with the 2nd ACL tear and Cruz evolving into his role in the Nicks tandem, but Hixon is no slouch by any means. Also, Randle stepped up. I bet Cruz was blanketed at the start of the game, but when Eli started hitting other targets, they just couldn't focus on Cruz anymore.

On top of that, Bradshaw's career game set up play action; I believe 2 of Cruz's TDs were off play action. When you have Bradshaw activating his inner Incredible Hulk, you pretty much MUST respect the play action, and with the number of people that bit, it made things a lot easier for the passing game.

I would assume most of the time Nicks and Hixon would be on the outside because they are faster and Cruz in the slot with his amazing catch and run abilities. No doubt all three on the field at the same time would be crazy!

Imagine what they could do in the 4 WR set with Bennett at TE. Eli could have Bennett, Nicks, Cruz, Hixon, Barden/Randle out in the routes. Nightmare for a defense. Few teams if any can line up a fearsome fivesome like that, lol! You could go empty backfield or line up Bennett in the backfield pre-snap.

Or have D. Wilson in at RB and have him roll out into the flats because you know there'd be room with all 4 of those guys running routes. Lots of room for Wilson to make guys miss and turn on his after burners!

Very true. I'd love to see them try this alignment a few times a game. You must anticipate Eli may take a hit but put Wilson or Bennett in the backfield to help chip the rush and bam that's just enough time for Eli to hit something big.
