when you look at some old games from 05-09 you realise how good Antonio Pierce was for us at MLB .......he wasnt the quickest either ...but he was able to play both the run and pass very effectively and had a great football brain .....Chase is full of heart and bravery but just not nearly as good as AP was

Chase is built more like your traditional throwback middle linebacker. Tall and thick. He is a little stiff in the hips and not as athletic as your modern day middle linebackers who are more agile and quick...more like a bull v. a cat. He definitely has the brains and heart which I think endears him to the coaching staff.

Its just a fact that whenever we talk about someone white, we naturally call them a "smart player". I can recall a thread earlier this year when we were talking about Joe Martinek and someone said he is slow when he is actually fast, http://hopatcong-sparta.patch.com/ar...utgers-pro-day .

News flash! Chase Blackburn is one o the few players on the giants D that is currently getting it done. Here is short list of people not getting it done:

Rolle, Osi, Tuck, JPP, Webster, why don't people start worrying about why Osi can not get a sack or play contain. Or why webster is pretty much a whipping boy now.

Instead everyone is super focused on Chase Blackburn not being fast enough, Ill tell you what whenever it was who turned that receiver free for that 60 yard wheaton TD, I did not see anyone else on the giants :cough: :cough: safeties, even on screen. So when both a CB fails to chip and a safety fails to cover the right area of the field chase blackburn's speed is not really the issue.

Right. So he is not only smart but so fast that he found himself waiting for a call last year while Boley and Kiwi where playing football in the NFL.

Why? Because he had an interception? Don't know about that. The PFF article mentioned that Chase was a big liability against the Browns. The int was a big play, partly because of the score at the time, but the score was only close because of all the yardage he was responsible for giving up that resulted in points for the Browns. The DLine actually played solid against the run, the LBers were the bigger culprit for the Browns running so well against us. Chase's tackling was horrid and he wasn't fast enough and/or took bad angles to the ball.

Where did U see that. Boley ran a 4.56 at the combine. Blackburn ran a 4.78 at his pro day. Regardless of 40 if u think Blackburn is as fast as or quick as Boley your crazy

He was really bad last week. He is the worst starter on Defense

Are you serious??? Eleven men on defense and you're laying it all on Chase?
And, you're still bugged that he was beat bty a WR, when a safety didn't give coverage over the top?
Excuse me, but that was not supposed to be Chase's man.
    You haven't got a clue.
I'll bet you're a star on your local flag football team.
Chase gives us his blood and sweat, and does his best.
If Coughlin had someone to measure up to your standards he'd be out there.
Shouls Chase apologize to you for not being as fast as a pro WR? For missing a couple of tackles?
Where the hell is the gratitude on here for the solid job he did for us last year?
Without him our defense wasn't as good. Period.
